The holy grail

There is no grail.
Only the next one.

Wait, I take that back.
I like the Indiana Jones theory:
The grail is that POS knife you carry all the time and aren't afraid to use.

Or it could be that really nice knife you carry all the time and aren't afraid to use.
Or it could be...
You get the idea.

you should try the search function before posting - since there are a dozen 'grail' threads in the last few months ;)

Sorry first time on the site.

Having a grail knife implies that I believe there is some end to knife collecting. My tastes have changed, and I've slowed down a lot, but even if I find a knife that can do everything I believe it should be able to do, I know enough to know that I would eventually find myself looking for another.

I see.Good way of putting it.Thanks

For a few decades now my "Grail Knife", that is, the knife I dreamed of and wanted more than any other, was a large, heavy-duty manual opening folding stiletto, with a thick 5 to 6 inch blade, strong reliable lock, solid lock-up with no blade play, a very grippy handle, and a knife I could easily open with a flick of my wrist. I also needed to be able to legally carry it.

My "Grail Knife" did not exist, so recently I made it a reality by re-building a Cold Steel Ti-lite 6 (6" blade)

Now I have my dream knife. I can't think of ANY knife that would mean as much to me as this one, or even close to it. This knife just does it for me. And making it real through my own efforts makes it mean even more to me. I no longer have a "Grail Knife" to pursue or dream of. And I'm good with that.

I never get tired of this Rukus 610 with a reblade by Josh in Vanax Superclean at 60 Rc -- 15 dps and a slicer edge width of 0.015 inches. The big blade flies open and falls shut when the Axis lock is held back.

After acquiring what was my grail a while back, GEC 81 Abilene Stockman, I don't really have another in my sights. I have picked up several since the 81 but more to check out a knife I don't have or really good deals I've run across.
Although I am really looking forward to getting the call that my Spartan Harsey Folder Plague Doctor is ready, more anxious for it everyday.

My Grail knife was a Randall Model 18. Many years ago, I paid my $25 down payment and waited about 18 months. Now it’s a 5-6 year wait, unless u pay a premium thru a secondary dealer such as A. G. Russell. And that’s what I did for my second grail knife, a Randal Model 1-16, with a full tang and Green Micarta take handle. I’m still entranced by both of my Safe Queens, but especially by the balance and speed of the Model 1-16. My son is next in line to receive the joy of their ownership. Honorable Mention to my Bud Nealy , 3.75”, Peshkabz.
