The holy grail

Grail? That would be my Peter Bauchop Witch. Only had to look for twenty five years to find it. Second would be my SOG S-1. My dad had an original, traded to him by a Green Beret for passage to Japan for some R&R on a C-130, about 1968. But, it was one of the brittle blades, and broke almost half an inch off the tip when my dumbass older brother used it as a screwdriver. The SOG version is a much better knife, I just wish they had sharpened the clip, to make it more authentic.

I painted my grandfathers bayonet silver while it was in my fathers possession when I was very young and didn't know any better.

Current grail is a Trevor Burger LEXK custom :D

Before that was a Sebenza, then it was a Hinderer, and a Shiro. I own more than one of each now. There will always be a new grail as its a never ending quest :p so i try to be happy with the amazing knives i already own. Now if a good deal pops up on a TBC and i have the funds then i will acquire most likely. This is how i came to my current collection, all through the secondary market. Knives i might not afford otherwise. Pretty happy with my collection as of right now though. :)

For a few decades now my "Grail Knife", that is, the knife I dreamed of and wanted more than any other, was a large, heavy-duty manual opening folding stiletto, with a thick 5 to 6 inch blade, strong reliable lock, solid lock-up with no blade play, a very grippy handle, and a knife I could easily open with a flick of my wrist. I also needed to be able to legally carry it.

My "Grail Knife" did not exist, so recently I made it a reality by re-building a Cold Steel Ti-lite 6 (6" blade)

Now I have my dream knife. I can't think of ANY knife that would mean as much to me as this one, or even close to it. This knife just does it for me. And making it real through my own efforts makes it mean even more to me. I no longer have a "Grail Knife" to pursue or dream of. And I'm good with that.

you also should look at the Al Mar Slimline Quicksilver Framelock (5″)

Eveled: I know in my heart that your advice to Use my Randall is true. But,at least to date, I haven’t been able to bring myself to that “place”. It is what it is!

unless you abuse them you won’t loose money on them by using them. Think of your son, if you leave them to him unused he won’t use them either. Wouldn’t that be sad?

Follow your heart and go out and use them. You won’t regret it.

Just my opinions based on my experience s. Your knives so do what you feel is best.

Agreed, need some g&g manual knives coming out again. Those damn deadlocks must be selling like hotcakes as it is all they seem to be making this year .
.
My grail was always a custom cqc7. Doubt I'll ever get one :(

That is utterly fantastic. I love it!

Aside from the opinions expressed here, there actually is a Holy Grail knife that presents itself according to the owner's desires, whether it be gold, copper, diamonds, elmax or axis lock you desire. It's buried in the Himalayas next to Noah's ark. Best thing is that it will change accordingly when your preferences change or a new supersteel becomes available. :)

Matt: I scored a factory made, left handed, Emerson CQC-7, years ago, at the NY Custom Knife Show. Bought it from Earnest, himself. Some years later, at the same show, i scored a left handed, mini CQC-7from the Emerson booth.

I have a love/hate relationship with the CQC7.
