The Hoodie Dude Got Sprung

I never accused you of that. Wouldn't be polite or appropriate here. :D

Just a question Thomas, and an invited one at that. No answers as usual. That's cool. Just trying to ascertain the rules of the game according to Linton. I do however note with approval that your posts today are more focused, more informative and, from my perspective, more useful. For me, balance is the key, and, as usual, I have a favorite quotation that may be relevant. Perhaps you will agree.

Your reason and your passion are the rudder and the sails of your seafaring soul.

If either your sails or your rudder be broken, you can but toss and drift, or else be held at a standstill in mid-seas.

For reason, ruling alone, is a force confining; and passion, unattended, is a flame that burns to its own destruction. (Kahlil Gibran)

I am not saying that I wholeheartedly agree with all its points, but the following editorial does present a very interesting and coherant framing perspective on some of the dangers we have been discussing above:

Just kinda makes the point -- if we are to be the most powerful force on the globe for the forseeable future, we should also labor to make ourselves the most accountable one as well.

Again, just my dos centavos.
