Hey guys,
I've never named my knives before but my son thought this one looked like a hornet and I think he's right so this one gets a name.
It's designed to be a fish and fowl blade with 0.10" 52100 steel taken down to 0.09" before sharpening. For those not familiar with 52100 steel it has very fine grain structure and therefore gets extremely sharp. I've made a number for the kitchen and they really perform well.
The handle material is Thunderstorm Kevlar with black and yellow G10 liners. It comes with a black Kydex sheath and belt clip.
Specs:
OAL: 8.75"
Blade: 4.75" full flat grind etched in Ferric Chloride.
Steel: Aldo's 0.10" 52100 Heat treated by Peter's to RC60
Blade Width: 1"
Edge before sharpening: 0.09"
Handle: Thunderstorm Kevlar with black and yellow G10 liners and black micarta pins
Sheath: Black Kydex with belt clip

PayPal sent. I'm so glad I checked the exchange before this one was grabbed up! I love the bird-n-trout genre, & most of the time they're around 6-7"....This baby's almost 9. The Hornet really is the perfect name, well done to your son, and to you!!
