Back to the shoes...
Why are their sole flat?
Isn't that more slippery than the textured ones?

I wondered thru the movie why they don't fall flat on the wet stones of the river using that shoes!

the reason for the shoes is to be more difficult to track. if your trying to be invisible you try not to leave distinct tracks.
