The 'I ❤ Nathan' Thread

Sept lurve Boss, bang on time on the 1st! TBH, you got me a bit worried doing all that Houdini stuff with your Bobcat and your Ford F350 truck playing backyard mechanic / tow / hoist guy because yer no spring chicken anymore. Fudge the K20, the 3 Shivs and whatever else thereafter, because if no Nathan, me have no interest in those. My luv for knives is just you bro because w/o you, I don't even knife brah!

Ben and I have that old heap of shit working again.

My back hurts

Jo and I need to go up to Illinois to pick up a little Makino graphite Mill. I don't want to take the 450 because it doesn't have air conditioning so we're going to take the little one.

At 8500 lb the mill is within the capacity of the trailer, and the load is within the capacity of the truck, but it's kind of a haul and there's some mountains in there.

8500 lbs doesn't sound "little". I'm sure you already know, but I wonder how much you save after expenses going and returning, over having it trucked.
(Assuming it could be done to your level of comfort.)

With the mill being at ~ 8500 to be loaded up on the trailer plus other weights (discounting Nathan ~ 185 lb. of pure muscled liver and the tiny Jo), that "little one" (I presume the F350) can do 12K+ (spitballing, I'll have to hit the reference book for that MY) but this is when a dually would be a better option. #roadwarriernathancarothers

Let me know if you are swinging through the Dayton area. I will meet up with you to give you some beer for the compound. You don’t even have to talk to me. I will just walk up, give you the beer and turn around and leave.

I don't know if the F-250 is a good idea or not. But the 450 does not have AC.

F250, sorry for some reason I keep thinking F350. Nevertheless, it's a PowerStroke and still 3/4 ton so depending on the read end's gear ratio, I still think 12K lb (perhaps more) all in. Some of these 3/4 tins were also beefed up with added leaf springs and things making them almost like a 1 ton but I dunno about yours. I did see that the F450 had no AC so it is what it is. If you get stuck, snap your fingers and get one of these fugly bums around here to come to the rescue. Have Marc clear his schedule, he'd luv it.

It's rated for it on a gooseneck. I wouldn't be able to pull that off the bumper.
