the i-net has afforded us long distance & instant communication with individuals from all over the world. what once took days or an expensive phone call can now be presented via text on subject specific(knives!)forums for any one to see and amass into their working perceptions of the subject at hand.

my point, is that with the growing community we find ourselves in, those who practice poor ethics or dishonor the knife industry will quickly find themselves on the mental "black list". these knifemakers, dealers, manufacturers, and customers who have questionable integrity will soon have no one to sell to or buy from. they will be their own undoing.

living with honor and integrity should be the norm, and for many of us it is. unfortunately, pompus ego's, shallow opportunists, & cheats will not get far, as judgement becomes swift and encompassing. they will see just how far their attitudes will take them. which will be, not very....

by and large these knife forums have facilitated the notion of responsibility, accountability, and courtesy. let's hope that it will continue to weed this fine green lawn we find ourselves in.

AMEN to that, pm! May the good prosper, and the bad and ugly go to ... wherever they deserve to be!

Right on Patrick,
Most of us have bought and sold sight unseen, sent money orders to far away strangers. I haven't been burned yet.
These forums provide the oportunity to get opinions and evaluations prior to buying, and an info outlet for bad experiences.
We police ourselves for the most part.

the support these forums give has been a great source for solutions to the occasional sitcky senario. just this past october i found myself with a custom order that was 1yr over due past the date promised. with the suggestions les robertson gave me to ammend the situation i was able to receive my knife with 2 days after i communicated the potential consequences to the maker in question. while the dialogue remained diplomatic thru out the intent was serious and a positive conclusion was the result.

Just posted on this topic under "Rip Offs" but just wanted to add...is it really "smart" to "screw" a guy on a knife??? I mean what do think he'll be carrying when the two of you discuss this "problem"??? What goes around comes around!! Aloha!!
