G'day, following on from the George Schrade Chow Kits shown recently, here are the less ostentatious Imperial Boy Scout and Girl Scout Kits......no leather here just plastic & vinyl.....still they are well designed for a more budget market and would have served the kids well. The Boy Scouts of America-Be Prepared blue plastic kit was more like the 'hobo' design with all three locking on to the spoon base.Surprisingly you tend to see very few of either of these Imperial sets....
The Boy Scout knife and fork in the 4th photo with "PAT APPL'D" on reverse originally came from the late Maurice Share collection. <I have many of his knives- many protos>. This knife and fork set were likely proto as well as all others I have seen are minus the Pat Applied stamping....Maurice was designer for Camillus in the 1930's..he then moved to Providence Rhode Island and designed for Imperial...his wife died in 2006, then Maurice's collection was dismantled....many of his eclectic design knives never made it to mass production...<.I have 6 of his 'Streamlines' by Camillus from the late 30's which were protos as well>
Imperial manufactured to a budget with many of their plastic case items however were possibly ahead of their time with their designs....last photo is of the KT-03 Imperial Jackmaster Tool Kit..and 2X KT-05's Junior Tool Kit.....Hoo Roo

and the KT-3 and KT-05 Senior and Junior Tool Kits by Imperial Jackmaster. Just the thing for pulling down a V8 I would imagine......:D.

I have a smaller (extra Junior) Jackmaster Tool Kit. It's the only one I've seen with only three (not five) interchangeable "blades". I figure it was a sample or SFO. Nice fake MOP.

Thanks, Larry.

I think there are more to come from the museum, but so far I've only gotten the Imperial and Geo Schrade G.S.A. utensil kits.

Just bringing up the Imperial produced Chow Kits which were not the quality of the George Schrade made Chow Kits....and as for the Tool kits how would you like to pull them out when you're broken down on the Highway to get you out of trouble......Lol....Hoo Roo

What fun those tool kits are. Excellent photos of pristine kits Larry and Dave.

My wife's car came with a tool kit and a first aid kit. Unfortunately I, genius mechanic (not), needed help locating the battery (in the trunk, BTW)!!! :) So these kits go unused for a future collector perhaps.

Imperial BSA Chow Set #1391, with box (top and bottom box flap are the same, side flaps differ and front and back are different) (looks like original lubrication on knife) (photos taken of gear "as found"):
