The Inquisitor

Thanks rane-dig.

Here are a couple of pics of the stand as requested. Not the best cause, as you can see, my photography setup is not large enough for this. The stand is heavy enough to hold up the knife but small enough not to detract visually from it. At the top end of the back support there is a small earth magnet in a piece of Blackwood that secures the knife upright. It is recessed so it doesn’t scratches the blade.

I hope you like it.

Sweet! I like it. looks like a great finish on the Black wood and I also like the way the quench line came out on the blade.

Patrice,,send the knife to Coop.It deserves it.Outstanding workmanship.

Thanks again for the good words guys.

Stan, it looks more and more like it is going to go to Coop. I still haven't heard from the buyer but even if I don't sell it I think I will send it to Coop anyway. Kind of proud of that one.

If you're referring to the stand, I totally enjoy the engineering and craftsmanship of it. Mentally though, the dramatic emphasis of the knife's lethality the vertically displayed bare knife conjures up (images of someone falling down on the damn thing) is quite unsettling. You sure caught the essence of the tension of the dichotomy of the "charm" of bladesmithing: beauty and lethality!

I think that would be a sound investment.

Phil, if I ever need a publicist, you are hired. ;) Hopefully this will be displayed high enough so that falling on it won't be a problem. But then again, while "Inquisiting", the threath of falling on the knife may have been one of the 'interrogation' technique. ;)

Thanks for the good words. I know I may sound like a broken record but believe me I do appreciate all your words of encouragement.

Patrice,
I love the design of this knife, I just went through your whole WIP on this one and I will say that at first I wasnt sure about the waist in the handle, it seemed really thin to me. But after seeing it all finished up, I think it works great for it, I too love the pistol-esque grip and grip cap, I'm a gun guy too. The silver inlay looks great with how bright it is compared to how dark it makes the blade look and I love the design and setup of the stand, I think the balancing look is awesome! Overall, just a great success on this one!

Thanks for the good words Jake, much appreciated.
It is nice when things all come together like they did on this one. Some designs, like one I am finishing right now, are harder to get right. Sometimes it's just a small thing that doesn't quite fit with the rest but after looking at it for so long, it's hard to see what it is.

OH WOW!!! This one's 'over-the-top' gorgeous for design, materials, fit 'n finish!! Fabulous!!!
