I picked up a few of those Mexican ironwood carvings really cheap as a means of getting inexpensive ironwood. One was a seal, the other a pelican like yours.

Yeah I've traded for them. I've had sharks, armadillos, whales and all manner of critters. I've also traded a guy for what to him was firewood. Lots of nice handles out of the firewood.

I've had three Ironwood knives and all three have been distinctly different in character.

Burly/swirly...

Can anybody comment if it changes over time? Gets dark? Osage Orange certainly changes when exposed to daylight, same for Ironwood?
