J. had his gear stolen and since he works for his local EMS he had a ready bag in his truck for those "calls" you get when you are somwheres else. Working in the same type field i have a similar bag and it hurts me to think that all my gear could come up missing from some scrote stealing it. so as a brother in the field i want to help him out.

this is my thread for him to help replace his gear

his boss is replacing a first aid kit and hand held radio.

his insurance aint doing anything else as they "say to bad so sad."

he needs just about everything else...
from carrying bag to rope for rapelling and everything in between.
come on folks lets help a man who helps others out.


Here is what i have for starter to ship to him:

blue water rapelling harness with two blue water locking d-rings.

chime in and lets fill some ready bags!
 
Since you are in the same kinda field, maybe you could kinda put together a list of some of the things he might need.

I don't have anything on hand, but I wouldn't mind running to the store and picking something up, if I knew what to get.
 
I have a decent Leatherman Charge and misc. small stuff. I'll put more up when I get it together.
 
Also, maybe we could make this a sticky for a little bit. Also, are we sending this stuff to one person to assemble it all and give it to him, or are we just sending stuff straight to him?
 
lets do it this way....send it all to one (me i guess) place and then to him.

i will get a list up...J. should hopefully help me out...as our personal list would definatly differ....

Rope 100 ft at least rapeling
Gloves (leather work style)
heavy duty pry bar(s)
LARGE gear bag
rain gear
life vest (water)
molle type vest
metal folding clip boards
calculators
glow sticks
road flares
emergency blankets
bunker gear
flashlights led and incandesant
batteries and holders
.....thats a start.

I just got my stuff packaged up and addressed to him. So, it's almost on it's way.
 
WTF guys. Totally not neccisary. I dont know what to say.

I really dont need the generosity. I can replace the stuff, its just part of life.

I am not lookin for a handout, and I did not post that to get one. I just wanted you guys to be aware of where your gear is and take precautions to keep it secure.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart though. You guys are really too much.

Jake...don't worry about it, man. You aren't just some jacka$$ who randomly posts here. You are a good guy from what I can tell and got screwed by some worthless scum. Like langston said, we don't have to do anything, we want to help out...
 
J, I'll work on a few items from the manufacturers...they like to replace gear that the pros use.

I'll also see what I can dig up at home.

Just look at it this way J, if I can afford to, I'll scratch your back because hey, someday I may need you to scratch mine. Who knows, someday you might use this gear to save someones life, maybe mine, so in a way, were not just helping you.

Besides, nobody hear is under any obligation, like langston said, we want to.
