The Ka-Bar combat knife vs the BK7

I dont understand ppl on forums some days…

Some complain when an old, pertinent, interesting thread is resurrected…

Others complain when a new thread is started when there are old threads to be found with the info…

I say, as long as you get the info you want, read what you want and ignore the rest…

BTW, I just read this entire thread as Ive never seen it before and if it hadnt been resurrected, I probably never would have seen it. There was a lot of interesting history here.

Yup, old thread, I know. My .02 :

The members of the Armed Forces deserve better, much better. I'm sorry but it has been a sore spot with me since my service in the US ARMY in 81-84' in Germany, Kaiserslautern, Kleber Kasern. It also was partly what fueled my quest for better knives. The Armed Forces leaders should be ashamed of the dismal stuff that was issued when I was in. I personally broke 3 Ontario bayonets and 2 Kabar Marine fighting knives during my Military time of 3 years active and 5 1/2 years in the NY NATIONAL GUARD.

If you want to test a product, just give it to a soldier. Let's face it & be real, being a soldier, your gear can easily be the difference between life and death. Your knife could be your last resort & the last thing a soldier needs to worry about. So if anyone reading this has any input on what soldiers get issued for knives, you seriously need to do better. A BK&T BK-7 would be a serious upgrade from the junk I broke & no, none of the broken knives were from throwing them.
