Yeah, I recognized it in the TV commercial...pretty good choice.

Good for the confirmation though...wasn't sure...only in there for like 1.5 seconds.

Yeah I noticed as well. I just recently sent them an old one I had which had a loose liner for repair and BOOOOOOYA! They sent me a spankin new one.

Man this is the best customer service ever in a company no S#!^! Too good to be true.

Not to mention Kershaw knives are complete ****..........

sorry jeff, didn't stop to notice, when I, and may other knife nuts see known knives in movies, we just jump to share the news.
It's pretty cool to see that as well.

And i wouldn't say kershaw are "****" knifes, mabye you don't fancy the 420 hc, but the knives are extremly well consturcted.

I saw the trailer with someone in whom I'm been trying to cultivate good taste (Benchmade 530, Military, Caly Jr). I was disappointed when they saw the knife in the trailer and said it looked cool. Now I learn it's a Kershaw, well, then that's not too bad.

HMmMMMMMM? This must be someone who has not actually held a Spec Bump, Offset, any Leek, Chive, Segal, . . oh I could go on but why . .my words won't convince you.

I really disagree with that statement I love many of their knives (haven't bought all of them yet:D ) and I challenge anyone to find any other company (knives or otherwise) with better customer service.

give them a try Jeff.

I've held a Storm, Vapor, Chive, Leek, and some other sort of Kershaw, and every single one of them were absolutely horrible. The lock-up on all of them didn't even seem safe, they all felt poorly made, and just appeared "cheap".

I have no idea how well the steel holds up however, since this was in a store so I obviously didn't cut anything.

Bad enough one dork posts **** and the moderators have to edit it, does everybody and his hamster have to quote **** so we have to edit their posts too?

Well everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but to state that a whole knife company is no good, well thats a big claim, you have to take into consideration the price range for the knife, No, Kershaw may not make the best knives avaliable, but take the Vapor for example...compare that to other knives in the $15 price range...Consider the price...Thats all...

Plus...I don't care if its a flea market special, when I see any knife in a movie I get excited! But many people here like and use Kershaw knives so this was soemthing special to see for many...Especcially since some of us here own a Whirlwind...Thats a bonus!

A lot of generalities being made. It "seems" like there is more to your dislike of Kershaw than you let on, and what would make a knife "appear" to be cheap? And did you hold these at a Wal-Mart? Because Wal mart carries all the Kershaw models you mentioned above, but none others.

If thats the case, I hope you don't think knives bought at walmart are always "cheap" because some of them are good knives at great bargains...

My point was that the Leek is the best Kershaw knife that WM carries (along with the Blur) and yet Kershaw makes dozens of excellent knives that he would not have held if he was at Wal Mart when he got his first impression of Kershaw knives. IMO Walmart carries many fine knives at great prices. I have puchased about 10 knives from them.

I guess when someone claims that Kershaw knives are "complete $h!t" I expect some elaboration, not generalities about how they seemed to feel. He even admitted to never using one...

i think the boa and blur are well made

I concur. Well mostly about the Boa, the Boa is top notch. The CPM440 Vanadium blade, the mini Bolo shape that has more than enough "belly" to it... and the flipper that acts as a blade stop, incase the liner lock were to ever fail. The Boa is one of the most under-rated folders IMHO. I don't know why they'd pick the Whirlwind over the Boa. But it is Hollywood..!..so what do you expect... The Whirlwind is ok, but I wouldn't pay more than $30 for one! The semi soft 400 series steel is mediocre to say the least, it doesn't hold an edge very well. The Boa's CPM440V blade holds an edge better than most, better than Aus6, Aus8, 440C, etc. Although hard to form, once you do it holds up well over time much better.

Well, they make knives for different budgets, but I say get your hands on a Spec Bump . .it has an awesome feel, great quality and a really innovative locking system as well as blade shape that is really useful.

Seriously, they are a knife company with many different knives for different uses , budgets, and people in mind.

P.S. Sorry Cougar for the repost of the **** . .didn't pay attention.;)

P.P.S. The Spec Bump has a new article in this months Blade Magazine as (I believe) the best Knife ken Onion and Kershaw makes . .check it out. The leek won the award for 2002 Blade's knife of the year . .the Offset won Blade's Best Overall knife for this year . .and the Boa, Segal, and others have all had praise and articles in their favor . .Kershaw must be doing something right.
