The KMG is in -- :)

I got a 10" wheel from Nathan House and just ordered a tool arm from Rob. I'll be hollow grinding before too long. :D

Love it don't you?...I know I love mine. I did the longer arm thing Kit added to his (works great, thanks Mike) and I've been thinking of that sheild shown in his pic, too. Damn good ideas. Enjoy!

Looking good, Michael.

I added a couple of things to mine that make it easier on changing belts and tracking. The longer handle give you more leverage and the white knob makes it easier to adjust tracking.
What do you have clamped to the grinder with a vise grip?
Do i need one of those?
can i buy one from you?
how much is it?
when can i get it?

Thanks
Michael

Michael,
It looks like a lexan piece to sheild the belt particles when the fly back at you. I wear a baseball hat! :D

I do too Brian or I end up with green specks from the belt grit on my bald head. :D

I just take a bath.....

:p :p :p

Glad to hear you got it up-n-running, Burch. Gotta love variable speed......

It's just a piece of sheet metal. With 50 grit and the 14" wheel, you get alot of stuff coming at you. I don't notice it with a 10" wheel.

Congratulations Michael, that's a beautiful thing. You even have a cool-looking motor. ;) But watch out, you're about to fill that stereo with lots of dust... Variable speed is one of those things you can live without - until you have it. It makes all the difference in the world.

I made similar changes to Kit's on my BIII. I also had to replace the small screw that adjusted the tracking arm with a bigger one. I stripped the smaller one out in about a year but the big screw I changed it to is holding up well. I used a lever to replace the tracking knob because that's what I found first. And it sorta matches the other levers on the machine. :D

As to the dust flying at you - I just squint. :D Maybe I should try the baseball cap too!
