The BK-15 is the best "small" Becker. Everyone and their dog makes a drop point small knife, the 15, and the 5 for that matter, are way more versatile designs than are their closest brethren.

Best small Becker BK2 Hands Down
Love the 5 and 15 but knife knuts on the side of the BK2

Just got a 5. Gotta say that I love it. Definitely a very classic and versatile blade. That being said. If I was going to have one blade that I could depend my life upon to do anything without any concern I would bring my bk2. Not that this has a lot to do with the op. I do think that the buying public are fools seeing as the 5 and 15 are gone or going. It's sad. But it makes me glad that I get to have one and use one everyday.

Depending on terminology, the BK2 is not a 'small' Becker.

Let's compare apples to oranges, not tangerines to pineapples!

I think the 15 is a fabulous blade. But there's something about the 16, I don't even want to modify it.
That said, I have a 15 and a 16, let the 17 go... and now that my 15 is straight-spined and orange-handled? Nope, you can't have it.

I'm really happy to have a pair of 5's, and the 5 is the only Becker my knife-making buddies have snatched at. I was going to sell the spare, but now... nah. It's the closest to a Fisk blade I'll ever own.

I love them all but the 5 and the 15 are my favorites.

Maybe it's just that my uses are different (doubt it) or that my tastes are different (likely) but the 5 is such a go-to knife for so many things. The 15 is a smaller, if not stouter (proportionally) version of the 5.

With the two of the them - they get more use than all of my other Beckers combines notwithstanding that they are outnumbered. That could be a function of me not getting enough field time but the 5 and 15 more than earn their keeps and my affection.

BK15 is my favorite Becker.

I'm a fool for giving 3 consecutive backups away. I don't plan to break or lose mine, but I should have kept or aquired another spare when they were still available at closeout prices.

Been caring for my Wife's elderly parents for over a year, her Father passed in April and her Ma is dying from Esophageal Cancer. She had to move in with her when her Father passed. Had been planning to get the 15 for a long time. I was away from the forum for a long time and had no clue that the 15 is gone.:( I found a 5 last night for a good price and pulled the trigger.:eagerness::eagerness::eagerness: I agree the BK 15 is outstanding and i'm really surprised it's been discontinued.

I own only one Becker and it's the 15. I like it so much that I don't want any other Becker knife. Crazy, huh?

I wish I grabbed a couple as well. The 5 is great and now thanks to the 20 I have an extra but I really love the 15.

I now have 4 15's and a 5 ..lol. I might like them a little, so it would be fair to say I agree with the OP a bit.

Got me back-ups for the back-ups on my beloved BK5 and BK15.

I suspect the reason why those models are so popular on BF and particularly among Beckerheads, compared to sales numbers leading to their becoming discontinued is that we use our knives and understand blade shapes and grinds; others - the masses, I suspect buy only based upon style and what a picture looks like on their computer screen.

Such truth in those words!

I use to really dislike the 5 and 15. As time goes on the 5 has really grown on me. Still don't care for the 15 too much. Maybe thats only because I never use it and exclusively use my bk16s

Love the 5. Dislike the 15 because I keep wishing I had the 5 in my hand instead.

alligator Brown Leather best I could do
Small knife clarification needed
Thickness or length (thats what she Said)

Glad you folks liked them. They are not for everyone and as Salty said, you folks understand blades and useage which is one of the reasons why I appreciate Beckerheads. That design has been around 300 years or better because it works. How many times compared to other designs do you see of the 5/15 in museums from long ago? Not as many.
Knives are to be used and used well, thanks guys for holding up your end of that chain.
