The Knife Exchange question

cabfrank is a perfect example of the main problem with this forum, ENABLERS. He is also quite bold about it, shameless individual that he appears to be.

The sales forum is a great place but you need to be quick if you see something you want. The only thing that makes me crazy (ier), is the practice of taking out the price when sold. Never could figure that out. That info could be helpful to know.
Maybe I am alone in this.

I hate it too. Especially in the beginning of this hobby, I wanted a reference of resale values, so I knew how much I'd lose if a bought a knife I wasn't going to keep.

Many threads on it if you want company or to find out why it is done

I dislike it as well. It's hard to know values and trends but I am on a very active gun forum that does that (not all the time) too. Oh well, I can find out nib prices and get an educated guess on resale prices so it's not a huge deal.

Okay I've narrowed it down. What I want now is a paramilitary 2, a para 3, and a manix 2.
How long it will take me to acquire all three, who knows?

Money not being the problem, it shouldn't take long if you watch the exchange closely. They come up regularly. Very few knives that won't show up or you won't have another chance at if you miss them-even the exact same knife will come up again and again.
Though they always seem harder to find when you want one. Other times they are everywhere.

Daaaaaang, a para 3 just sold and I have no idea how much. Is asking you why it's done too forward?
There are many thread in good bad ugly on the subject of price removal-I'll find one for you
Here is a link to one with links to many others

If you are asking if it is all right to ask what the price was, I would say yes, but in private.

I appreciate that, I'll read more closely later. As of now I was able to drop into Cabelas for a minute and I picked up the paramilitary 2 and a para 3 and boy is it hard to decide between the two.
I wish they had had a manix but they didn't :-(

Picked them up as in bought them or just fondled in store to get a feel for how they fit your hand? Personally i wouldnt buy any knife from cabelas. Prices are outrageous. Even sale price is more than most online retailers. Exception being cheap kershaw type knives.

I realized there might be some confusion after I posted but I was too lazy to correct it.
No I just handled them, flicked them open, put the pm2 in my pocket to see if it was too heavy or too big.
I like to look at Cabela's but I hardly ever buy anything from there. In fact the last thing I bought from them was a result of someone giving me a gift certificate.
My goal is to get a pm-2, a p3, a manix 2 and a manix 2 lightweight. Now I need to figure out do I want to get most expensive first, or least expensive first, or just cruise The Exchange to see what deals come up over the next few weeks.
As of right now it won't be until next Friday that I can actually get any one of those four so I have plenty of time to do research on what combination I want.
What I will probably end up doing is just whichever one of those four shows up in a good deal the next few weeks I'll get it and hopefully be strong enough to keep from buying every other knife that I see as well.

I would cruise the exchange at least for some of the PM-2 sprints though they can get pricey but some of the combinations of color and steel are just so nice.
