I know I'm not the only one who hangs his head when the thought of the BIG GOOF I made not purchasing a knife comes arround in thought. My demon was a NIB 1994 Chris Reeve Sebenza a friend going thru a divorce back then needed to sell for $200. I remember laughing saying, "Who'd buy a pocket knife for $200, ya dumbass?"

Guess who the "dumbass" is now........:grumpy:

A down on his luck guy offered me an Opinel no.7 w. carbon steel blade for $5 or a sandwich. I should have taken it.

Is this thread about knives we had the opportunity to buy but passed up, or knives that we wanted to buy but someone else jumped in and bought first?

I skipped on a black and tan G10 ASH-1 for $300 :( Also an M9 LE and sheath for $270. My biggest regret right now though is the orange manix. I had one on pre order at $107 but has zero cash the week I had to pay for it. Now they are like $180 and there's no way I'm paying that much for one.

Passed up a Tapio Wirkkala puuko at a gunshow for $20.00, because the guy wouldn't come down to $15. It was pretty scratched up, but didn't even look like it had been sharpened.

Had to pass up on a BM 710 last week at the gun show that was only $105 out the door.

Even though I did pick up a Spyderco Military, I regret not having the extra cash for the 710, which was priced lower than any other I've seen online. Too many knives and not always enough cash....:grumpy: :(

Busse NMSFNO LE. And alot of Fällknivens before their sudden, huge increase in prices.

Passed on a Emerson CQC-5 for $300 at BLADE in the early 90s.

Did not place more orders with Lile Knives.

A few Randalls I passed on.

Missed out on a few Rippey knives.

Really should of gotten a knife by Peter Bauchop.

I could go on & on.

I should have purchased a 2nd blue Manix 2, so when I sold my first one in a fit of hypoxia I would still have the backup.

2010 was a really significant year for me. By the time I found out about the 2010 Spalted Maple sebenza's, they were all gone. I
promised myself that if I ever saw one...

A few weeks ago I saw a NIB small spalted maple, with no replies on the exchange. Price was fair. I ended up waiting till
morning to take action. I spoke to the seller on the phone. One person had contacted him first, but was stalling. The seller mentioned if I was ready to go that he might be able to just sell it. I mentioned that I was ready, and that maybe he should give the other guy another hour.

The othet guy ended up buying it. And although I stuck to my principles, I'll probably never get another shot at that knife, NIB for MSRP price.

Only one in shop, (Italy)Zero Tolerance Model 0300 ,for about 90 Euros,i thought i will come back later and buy it,but it was gone

Speaking of Italy.... I wish I had bought a LionSteel SR-1 when they were available. I certainly had the money - and spent it on other knives. I may still get a chance...
