This is my first post because I feel it is nescesary to say that while the knife store has very good prices, it is out of business. This may be old news to some of you, but I just found out.

Yes, Ed......but the date on the site (where you'd normally find "today's' date) reads Monday, June 7.........
Just noticed....the "Checkout" button is next to the date....maybe that's when they "checked out"!?!?
Sorry, couldn't resist..... :-)

well, they do have contact info... located in Amarillo, TX with a # (806) 467-8499 ... But I've never dealt with them... nor have I called...

Did they go out of business because of bad customer service or did they provide bad customer service because they were going out of business?

Here is what LITTLE I know...

I had heard the person running Theknifestore.com was going through some personal problems that caused him to shut down.

There are several knife dealers in Amarillo and I don't want people to get confused. There are two that offer internet sales only, and one store that has a brick and mortar location plus internet sales. There is also a wholesale distributor located in Amarillo.

The only reputable knife store in Amarillo I would use is www.knivesplus.com. This is a family owned business that has been around for almost twenty years (located off !-40 & Georgia). They just got into the internet sales in the last year and they are really trustworthy to deal with. The owner of the store is named Troney. He knows his knives and he is a great guy to talk to.

I would rather spend a few dollars extra on great customer service than save a couple of dollars from a non-reputable dealer.

I placed and order with them two months ago for an Entrek Cobra. I got an automated reply. But that's the last I've heard from them. I've sent them emails, used their message board and called their customer service number. No answer and now replies.

I guess I'll just have to place my order some place else.

I e-mailed them on June 18 about the question of lack of response and received a reply today, saying simply: "We are still open".
