Anyone here love lanyards as much as I do?

I like lanyards on deep carry folders for ease of deployment. My Gurkha Kukri is the only fixed blade I have a lanyard on; I just like the extra security it offers, and since it's a rare Carbon V model, I really, really don't want to lose it. Mine actually came with the kukri; the previous owner put it on.

All my other lanyards (except the one on my Pocket Bushman, which it came with, and is absolutely necessary for releasing the lock) are from a website that probably isn't an authorized dealer, so I won't mention them by name. I've got some spare lanyards, and I even bought one to have ready for my Spyderco Calypso when I receive it. I do not know how to make lanyards. I've got some spare paracord and skull beads though, so I'd like to learn to make them. I just haven't had the time to make a hobby out of it.

I confess I didn't really read what you posted, I thought you might be trying to find out where the lanyard thread had gone.

I also love lanyards but mine are not fancy, just a loop and knot.

Can you tell me what folders those are on top and third from the bottom, looks interesting, please and thank you?!

Cold Steel Spartan and Black Rock Hunter. Unfortunately the latter is long discontinued...unless you're talking about the one with the blue lanyard, that's the Cold Steel Voyager, which is in production and awesome.

I do not use lanyards on my knives, do not like them. I do use them on my flashlights, and also have one on my cell phone. Since I usually carry a pair of Military's, and the lanyard hole is deep in my pocket, the use of a lanyard is pointless.

They do look neat, and I have tried them in the past. Also tried some of the skulls, which broke. So my knives just go naked.

:( no, i was talking about the one below the blue lanyard :( how about you gift me that Black Rock Hunter! Awesome thanks so much!!!
You might be able to find them around the Exchange. I paid $25 for mine direct from Cold Steel during a sale they were having.

What were those skulls made of? The ones in my pic are made of resin or pewter.

You carry a pair of Millies? Which ones, if I may ask?

I've been buying my lanyards, but I decided that enough is enough. Any new lanyards that I get will be made by myself. Wife makes purses for resale and has tons of nice (and some expensive) beads. The rest is just about getting leather or paracord and lacing/tying what you want. :)

I like lanyards for most of my knives that have lanyard holes. Easier to get out of your pocket, even if you have a clip. [Edit: but having a lanyard hole on the other side of the knife from your clip is a design flaw, IMHO]

A left hand model with a satin finish blade. An all black right hand model. One each side due to being ambidextrous.

Not sure what the skulls were made of. They were bought from a place most would be familiar with. Both of them cracked at the hole for the lanyard. Threw the lanyards in the round-open-top-file, and have not looked back since.

That sounds super cool! Will you ever be selling lanyards?

I 100% agree. I only like lanyards on tip-up carry folders. I just don't see the point if the knife is tip down, considering that the main reason I have them on there is ease of pocket extraction.

Nice. I've been looking at the Ti Millies, but I'm not sure I want to buy a titanium framelock that doesn't have a steel insert.

I currently only have 1 folder with a lanyard. My Southern Grinds Bad Monkey. Bead is a custom by Willydigger, ice blue tritium eyes. I have a lanyard on my Mora Leuku, don't know if it will stay on there or not. I am a fan of lanyards depending on the knife. Tip down knives with lanyard tubes always make me chuckle.

I'd like to get a TI version as well. Not sure where one is available now. Knife Center did have some as of a few weeks ago, but they are showing them as a pre-order again. Implying that Spyderco will make more? I dilly-dallied around due to buying a Cold Steel Espada XL and did not have the funds for the Millie. Should have gotten that TI Millie first. ;-(

As for the steel insert: don't go around flipping the knife open all the time and I doubt you'll ever have a problem with excessive wear at the lock interface. When you flick a knife, the lockbar tends to go further over on the blade than when you just nicely open it. I do not flick my Millies, and have one that I bought new in 96 that still has a great lockup. Of course it's not titanium though, but steel-on-steel.

I flick all of my folders that can be flicked, and I think for the implied intended use of the Military model, they should be made to handle lots of flicking and rough use by military personnel. Still, it's a really nice looking knife, and I love how Spyderco shapes their blades.

I own the medium Espada. It's very, very nice, and its got a unique feel to it. Slices and pierces scarily well with that broad hollow grind and acute tip.

I like simple lanyards.
That's a nice, simple lanyard alright, and a very nice knife. I admit to liking fancy mall ninja lanyards. :D

I only like a lanyard on my smallest knives that don't fill my hand. If it's big enough to have a pocket clip, chances are I won't want a lanyard on it.
