The Last Of The Mohicans

Well its just a great movie, thats for sure. I am going to were they made some of the scenes in the movie the next time i go to the MTNs. DDL is a great actor and in that movie he really out does himself. I also like Hawkeyes Indian Brother and I liked the younger sister ( shes just HOT ) . I wish they made more movies about Colonial America. There always big blockbusters at the theaters. They need to make a good movie about the life of Daniel Boone IMO. Now that would be a great movie as long as its done the right way.

You can thank Director Michael Mann for the weapons-handling in the movie. He also Directed DeNiro, Pacino, Kilmer and Sizemore in "HEAT." He also Directed "Collateral" with Tom Cruise and brought in "Andy McNabb" a/k/a Mick Gould (Former British SAS, who he used for "Heat") to train Cruise.

Yep, thanks to D.R. for highlighting that fact. I understand Mann is a real life firearms instructor, hence his good choreo for tactics in his films. I love ALL of his works.

The area around Cooperstown New York is where the scenery and setting of much of "The Last of the Mohicans" book was inspired from. "The rock at the lake" for those of you who read the book, is actually smaller than you would think, and it is walking distance from the Baseball Hall of Fame. The river from the lake is not as wide as it is desribed, but when it was written, it might have been. Beautiful area in itself.

My screen name comes from my trail name given to me by my cousin when I first started hiking.

I visited James Fenimore Cooper's house in Cooperstown. It was pretty interesting. Of course the Baseball Hall of Fame too. It is a beautiful area of the country.

Daniel Winkler was also involved in the project.

Daniel made some astonishing period muzzleloaders at one time, truly works of art. He exhibited from time to time at one of the Charlotte, NC gun shows back in the late 80's. His powder horn scrim was as good as any I've seen.
