The latest from Leesa Martin!

Here's another that might be a good subject. She's been gone for more than 10 years, but I still miss her.

Absolutely. Thats a great looking dog.

You really have me thinking. We had to put my lab down about 2 years ago.
She was with us for a little over 14 years, and was a very big part of our family.
I had never thought about it before, but seeing your knives, really makes we want to have one done with her on it.

I think it's a great idea and you should consider that. Leesa has just finished one for another forum member, HonkerRusty with their dog Buddy on it. It was done on a white bone 500 just like the one I had her do with the tortoises. It came out great and if Rusty doesn't post pictures when he gets it I will if he wants me to.

This girl (one of those TERRIBLE pit bulls) is another I should have done. I lost her only 2 weeks after losing the Rhodie. They were great pals and I think to this day that she died of grief at losing her friend.

GREAT thread Plum! You've had some cool dogs and Leesa did a great tribute to Flutter.

Got any videos of Flutter running the agility course? Those are fantastic to watch.

You should have been more careful with her Dave, she looks vicious ;)
Our friends here have one, and he is one of the gentlest dogs I have ever met. Losing them within weeks of each other had to be tough. :(

No I don't and I'd give anything if I did. She was quite the little "star" and actually had a fan club of sorts. There was a group of other's in the competitions that made it a point to come and watch her runs.

She was a sweetie for sure. She never met a person or another dog for that matter that she didn't like. When I came home that day and found her dead, I just sat down and cried like a baby.

Thanks for the pictures and stories, Dave. Leesa, another great job for Dave and we all appreciate your work as works of art.

Dave,

What a sweet knife, I've been waiting to see that one. It came out fantastic, Leesa you are a ture artist! Thank you Dave for the heart warming subjects/stories.

DM, let your wife know that one day soon I'll be contacting her for some work....just have to come up with the right subjects.

Is that a ponytail I see Dave? Beautiful dogs my friend!!

Thanks G, and yes, I wore a ponytail for quite a few years. I finally had my wife cut it off (she did so only under protest) because it kept getting sucked into the back of my hair dryer and getting all wrapped up in the fan and shaft.

She saved it and it's still here in a sealed plastic bag.

Here's a couple of preliminary photos of a 500 that Leesa did for Rusty (HonkerRusty) as a gift for his wife. It has her/their special little friend Buddy. The knife is on its way to them now so these pictures are all we have at this point. They are good pictures though (Thanks Leesa!).

Well I must say you have a fine head of hair for your age. You are one of the lucky ones.

I'm really looking forward to seeing what Leesa does with the Rhodie!! I'm starting to think I should get in on this too!!! I have two dogs that have passed that I miss every day.

You really should consider doing that G. I'm sure you wouldn't have any problem getting hold of or making yourself, a suitable knife. I think they will be something to treasure for years to come.

I'm fortunate to have plenty of hair. The lady who cuts it for me now, says I have way too much for a man my age and she should be charging me more to cut it!;)

ROTLALMAO!!! That is too funny!!

I'm thinking on a scrimshaw!! I have two painting (an oil and an airbrush) of Jake and Rusty. I probably need something for my pocket too.
