I have been experimenting with my edc kit.
So far this is my favorite setup. It fits in a pocket very well and seems very tough. It contains a Vic. Fieldmaster, Inova microlight and a peanut lighter held together by a size #1 snap swivel and some split rings. They look a little small but have 150lb test strength.
What do you think?

Looks good. That will serve you well in the city, as well as the woods

blazink,

Nice EDC. How do you like the peanut lighter? I have a few and they seem very temperamental with the slightest breeze.

o'-45, by all means, copy away. And post any improvements you make. You're an aggie aren't you? I am an aggie civil engineer, class of '07.

val', the peanut lighter is definately not good in the wind, it needs a baffle. It seems like there is room inside to add a small one. Besides that I have been really happy with it. I have had mine for several months and only filled it once.....just tested it and it lit on the first flick :).

I'm bumping this back up to the top because I finally got around to copying this neat idea. Here is my version of it, not sure if this is the final version though.

Its a SAK economy camper model. Attached to it: trot line cord, photon light, pill fob with fire making stuff and a permanent marker.

Why the permanent marker?

No real reason. I always have a pen or pencil in my pocket and when I saw these little markers though they were cool. I'm not sure about the finality of this setup and plan to change it. I for sure plan to keep the knife, light and cord but I am unsure about the other two.

I like the thought of being able to write on stuff if needed and the capsule will prolly be dropped in favor of a lighter.

What about adding a whistle to such kits? I wear one on my neck chain along with my Photon.

I carry similar, too.
(Gonna pinch the swivel idea, though!)
I have a Vic Handyman with fauxton, firesteel & spycapsule of vaseline/cotton on the split ring.
