The left hook

Thank you very much. Very interesting but definitely not a method I would want to use if I had to open the knife quickly in a secure grip for whatever reason. So far I have been doing what most other people seem to be doing and popping the knife open with my middle finger and then thumbing it the rest of the way open.

That's my normal method also, especially with larges.
 
After this thread was posted two years ago, I use this all the time! Mostly when playing around, but also effective for necessary deployment.
I actually went so far to purchase a left-handed knife and spend a couple months with it, but I actually prefer this method for left hand use and deployment rather than my foreign uncontrollable left thumb.
 
Thanks Cody for this bump. I have tried to Left Hand my Smalls to no success. Will try this when I get back from the beach Friday.
