The Leonard Nimoy Should Eat More Salsa Foundation

Wow...all this and its not even offered in Vulcan.
I give up...is this guy on drugs...or does he just have 2 brain cells....with one lost..and the other out looking for it.
At least he is a true explorer...going where no man has gone before.

I don't know...but I really think its time God started to thin out the herd.

isnt that guy dead? but look how many hits that website has gotten like 350,000 or something.

Granted I am in Tejas but it is my opinion that EVERYONE should eat more salsa. 3 to 4 servings a day would be about right. I consider it major food group.

Problem is..only "GOOD" salsa is in Texas or Mexico, or some remote parts along the S.W. border. There may be a few who "know salsa" and have some good home-made. Nothing like Texas BBQ either. Guess its because its too HOT to cook indoors.
First thing I learned about when I lived in Texas was to eat peppers. I thought Jalapenos were hot....sheeeee-it. But..you DO have to start with them...before long yer eating them on your eggs in the morning. Hell..you could go to a Luby's in Texas and get good salsa. The "GOOD" salsa stops at the border for some weird reason.

Peppers are rated in Scoville Units (SU)
sweet bell...............0 (SU)
El Paso...................700
Coronado................1000
Jalapeno.................2,500-8,000
Hidalgo...................6,000-17,000
typical Habanero......200,000
Red savina Habanero.577,000

these are just some examples, and the is one more I was offered by a Mexican friend...a tiny red pepper called Tepin... off the Scoville chart....about 1/4" in diameter. He offered it with a tell-tale smile......THE GRINGO KILLER.
I lived in Texas for 6 great years. You know you are a Texan when you no longer get tears in your eyes when you eat a Hidalgo or better...and you are no longer stupid enough to wipe your eyes with your fingers...if you do tear up. Worse than fire ants or mace.
You are also a Texan when you know the plural of y"all...... is NOT y'all's......but all y'all.

I can't do the Tepin peppers, but almost anything else.
My Grandfather would eat them 3-4 at a time with a fork...
He was a German from Texas, and could eat anything hot.
I doubt he had taste buds left...

I don't mind any number of hot peppers going in, it's when they finally come out that things can get interesting!

I still haven't forgiven Nimoy for recording The Ballad Of Bilbo Baggins. Sometimes in the silent hours I sit bolt upright in bed, sweating and screaming, when I recall the video.

The Ballad Of Bilbo Baggins

In the middle of the earth in the land of the Shire
lives a brave little hobbit whom we all admire.
With his long wooden pipe,
fuzzy, woolly toes,
he lives in a hobbit-hole and everybody knows him

Bilbo! Bilbo! Bilbo Baggins
He's only three feet tall
Bilbo! Bilbo! Bilbo Baggins
The bravest little hobbit of them all

Now hobbits are a peace-lovin' folks you know
They don't like to hurry and they take things slow
They don't like to travel away from home
They just want to eat and be left alone
But one day Bilbo was asked to go
on a big adventure to the caves below,
to help some dwarves get back their gold
that was stolen by a dragon in the days of old.

Bilbo! Bilbo! Bilbo Baggins
He's only three feet tall
Bilbo! Bilbo! Bilbo Baggins
The bravest little hobbit of them all

Well he fought with the goblins!
He battled a troll!!
He riddled with Gollum!!!
A magic ring he stole!!!!
He was chased by wolves!!!!!
Lost in the forest!!!!!!
Escaped in a barrel from the elf-king's halls!!!!!!!

Bilbo! Bilbo! Bilbo Baggins
The bravest little hobbit of them all

Now he's back in his hole in the land of the Shire,
that brave little hobbit whom we all admire,
just a-sittin' on a treasure of silver and gold
a-puffin' on his pipe in his hobbit-hole.

Bilbo! Bilbo! Bilbo Baggins
He's only three feet tall
Bilbo! Bilbo! Bilbo Baggins
The bravest little hobbit of them all

LMAO -- great stuff. Thanks Tim! :D

Did anyone else check the "about us" page? It was founded in 1996, and the copyright date is 2000. They can't still be around can they?

The German and Spanish pages seem OK--maybe someone who knows the languages better can confirm.

I didn't see anything to suggest that they've actually tried to talk to Leonard Nimoy, or find out how much salsa he eats anyway.

The Ballad Of Bilbo Baggins

When I was in my early teens, I would hear that on the "Dr Demento radio Show."

It always cracks me up when people make a serious attempt to record their singing when they shouldn't be in the same room with a microphone.

Ever heard William Shatner's version of Just thinking about that recording makes me look forward to global thermonuclear war.

Edit to add:

I had never seen the video, but I found it here:

http://www.drakeshangout.com/video/view/bilbobaggins.htm

After viewing it, I can honestly ask myself "Why did you do that?"

If you have a strong stomach, or a tin ear, William Shatner's "Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds" can be found here:

http://www.pathcom.com/~boby/lsd.htm

Warning - listen at your own risk!

Darn You Centuar! You had me singing this silly song for a week. Can anyone read the words on the frumpy sweatshirts and the button at the end?

As for Lucy in the sky with diamonds: as if the song wasn't surreal enough to begin with!
