The Les George Knives Thread

Just arrived from the Exchange...I couldn't pass it up.

I love the diamonds! Such a great knife, had mine with me all day on a burn.

I’m late to the Myna convo. But I snagged a DLC Morph. I’m pretty pumped about it, but the tracking is still showing not shipped yet after several days. I was hoping before Christmas, we’ll see.

DLT customer service has always treated me well. Everyone else I know who bought a DLC Myna received theirs already so I wouldn't hesitate to send them an email. Hopefully that gets it moving for ya.

Yep, they have been excellent for me as well.

Nice, how ya liking it?
I’m liking it!

It’s my first Myna and it needs to be broken in. It arrived from the shop sealed and covered in oil.

Ergos, blade, dlc, texture are all very nice. I think it’s a well thought out design. The hardware is neat except for I’m not sure why he chose not to make the standoffs dlc. In addition, the rear pin had a touch of rattle (I put a dab of flourinated grease like on a CRK lanyard pin) and it’s gone now.

Action was a little gritty out of the pouch but after a clean/lube and about a hour of flicking it smoothed right out. I ordered some skiffs and some PB washers just for fun but the action is awesome as it is with the stock bearings. Blade very slightly favors the show side but apparently that’s normal on the Myna. My Talos favored the show side out of the box as well but I was able to adjust it back to center. Not so much with the Myna. Also exhibits a touch of lock stick. Not sure if it’s a function of the dlc but it seems to be decreasing the more I flick the knife (it’s gone now 👍🏼)

Les makes a lot of really beautiful knives but my opinion is that they are made to be used no matter how pretty they may be and the more they are used the better they get. If I decide to keep, carry and use it I’m sure it will quickly become a favorite.

ETA: Super sharp out of the box as you would expect

Yea, I noticed the stand offs weren’t coated. Probably should have been. Surprised to hear it was covered in oil.

I put skiffs in mine as well. Didn’t necessarily make it more drop shutty but made it feel way smoother almost like it was on washers. Definitely worth the upgrade. I was wondering if he was going to get the centering fixed. Weird cause it’s not an issue on any of his other models.

I agree that his knives are made to be used. The myna in particular just begs to be used. And that blade is so useful.

Could you provide the Skiff baring size for the Myna. Thx

That’s them mentioned above but you can also go the bearing compatibility page and order them under the Les George vecp.
Hey Mitchnola

Do you know if the standoffs are the same between the Talos and Myna? I’m being lazy and don’t want to take everything apart and check. I know there are some black standoffs floating around out there, might see if I can get my hands on some

That would have been my question; that the chart wouldn’t mention crossover compatibility. Hence my initial inquiry. Thanks again SeriousBRD.

I would think so but can’t say with certainty. But I don’t see any reason they would be different unless the flipper standoffs are a little wider because of the bearings. If you ask Les he’ll get back with you rather quickly. You could also probably get them coated from way of knife for pretty cheap.

My final custom purchase of 2024. I hope everyone has a wonderful Christmas tomorrow! 🎅🎄☃️
