The Les George Knives Thread

I'll keep an eye out for a deal somewhere down the line.

Any issues with it? Detent, lock stick, blade play, anything at all? Or simply perfection?

I’ve heard of complaints about the jimping on the flipper tab being too rough. Wasn’t a problem for me. No other issues on my end other than the blade is slightly off center but not enough to be a problem or bother me.

And while the bearings are good enough it’s definitely worth upgrading to skiffs considering the price. They’re so much smoother.

The only other potential issue would be if you have x large hands the handle may feel a little cramped.

Detent, disengaging the lock and the flipper design are all excellent on mine. Never had lock stick either.

Found Les VCEP tanto in sweep milling blade steel CTS-XHP, but seller says there is a blade play and the knife is BNIB. How can it be, did anyone had an experience with Les George knives having a blade play or detent issues from the maker brand spanking new? Appreciate your feedback back

I would imagine any blade play would be removed by simply tightening the pivot slightly. I had adjusted the detent slightly on one of ESVs, it flipped fine, I just wanted it slightly crisper if that makes sense. BNIB doesn't necessarily mean that the blade has sat there untouched since it left LG, I'm sure it has been handled and Les doesn't put locktite in the pivots, so a few actuations can loosen the pivot. I take apart, clean, and lube nearly all of my Spartans and LGs. When I reassemble I use some plumbers tape on the pivot bolt which allows for adjustment but the bolt won't loosen by itself.

I had one come with some blade play that was supposedly unused. Tightening the pivot did not help. I sent it in to Les and as usual he fixed it right up and it’s been perfect since.
