I know benchwarmer380 is one of the good guys and it was meant in humor , like I told him , just did not seem to be the right fit here .
Thank you for all your help Blues .
Happy to help, Jack. This place still means a lot to me after all these years. 🍻

What's more important is to bring emojis back to GBU!

We recently had a guy melting down because Mike Stewart wouldn't work on saturdays. Then there was this other guy who was mad because he got a free sheath...

Not being able to "laugh" at their meltdowns has a serious impact on those threads and make them less funny.

Bring back emojis in GBU.

Set my people free!

That's the nicest thing I've ever heard anyone say about Mike Stewart.

I also think this is a really important feature.

I understand why the "like" button was taken away to make less hassle for the mods ... but seems if people would just be adults and not be so easily offended we could have nice things. Or simple be told to pull up their big girl panties up and get over it .. after all it's just a freaking emoji people.

But what do I know ... I grew up in the days where not everybody trying out made the team ... and not everyone that entered got a trophy. I know ... what a horrible world we lived in. How did we survive so long???

Just saying ... I enjoyed the "like" button and also wish it was available.

I understand some folks not wanting their post to get all cluttered up with the likes and or comments or compliments . Those folks are usually over in the " for sale by individual " forum , not the knifemakers for sale forum . We went thru this a couple of years ago over comments when it became against the law to leave comments .

A few request to the mod's and Sparks and then the rule was modified for us in the makers section as long as we stated comments welcome .

So i was shooting for this again . I'm glad to see I'm not alone though .

We may need to commission the world’s foremost experts in philosophy to help decide once and for all…

To emoji, or not to emoji… that is the question.
Whether 'tis nobler in the mind to suffer
The laughs and angry emotes of outrageous fortune,
Or to take arms against a sea of trolls,
And by opposing end them?

Should I assume that this is a dead issue and is not possible since we have not heard back from Spark ? Just checking in .
No. Spark Spark is sometimes out of pocket for a period of time, so probably best not to "assume".

I don't know what he can or will do, but simply speaking from experience that we should allow him more time. More than that, I can't say.

I'd like to help find a happy compromise here...if it's doable.

I’m with you Jack. I like the emojis in the makers forum. I only put a “like” or “love” when that is what I think. It’s like saying “good job” or giving a maker a “pat on the back” without cluttering the thread.

That would be awesome.

…Now if we can just get it back for the S!K thread… 🤔

Thanks all you guys for raising this issue. As a maker who has posted knives I made here since April '22, I do miss both seeing 'likes' on my work and the ability to 'like' others. I viewed both kind comments and 'likes' as encouraging from the start. Thanks for your time. Grady Slaughter
