That's what I call it.

This one goes to MNeedham.

Ranger RD-7 with lions blood amboynia burl scales with black liners and mosaic pins.

After I stripped this thing I faced all sorts of deep scratches. The blade was very rough under the black stuff. I don't have the apparatus or patience for a superb satin finish, but it it way better than it was.

The wood smells great and is some of the most beautiful I've ever had the pleasure to work with. Some Briwax brought out the bright red color. Still need to wet form the sheath.

Nice.

I've heard a lot of justifcation for the spray coating and I cop it's good in damp enviromnents but IMO the main reason for it's use is just to avoid having to put more labor into the blade.;)

Sold. I've wondered for a while why some get so excited by what colour that drain paint might come in too.

That's pretty sweet, I did the same to my RD6. Rather than try to polish it to a luster, I did the forced patina thing and am quite happy with the results. You have a beauty there:thumbup:

ilbruche, hey

Had a look round The Badger Hole for the first time the other day as well. You're clearly on a roll. Sweet.

Ilbruche,

My son came in to look at the knife (actually my whole family did), he asked if he will get that knife when I die. I'm sleeping with one eye open from now on....

Awesome job! Wish the internet would let you smell that new handle smell! Great looking sheath too!

Ofs!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Out Freaking Standing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Damn Good Work!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ofs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I agree 110%!!!! I can't stand a painted blade..if you can't keep it from rusting..sell it to me for cheap!!!
ILBRUCHE...what can I say...you are getting pretty good at the redo's...Gene

Absolutely  That's the kind of work I've come to expect from you though! That wood feels like a magic eye puzzle, it's so hard to stop staring at..
