(I suppose one problem with this set-up is that, although it's very convenient for everyone to "carry over" the list of entrants to the next round, we often end up with "winners" who are no longer active at BF. The Porch, like much of the modern world, has a quite transient population!)

Yeah, I was thinking about cleaning up the list, however it'd be a bummer to get dropped off because you were gone for a stretch. Plus, it might serve to bring people back to the community 
"The Box" is headed down south as of about 20 minutes ago - I should have probably slathered the carbon steel knives in oil, living in the desert lets me be pretty lax about that! Hopefully they arrive safe and sound.

Gary I agree 100%. If I were to be lucky enough to be a winner I would definitely change the rules to active regular members of the Porch. With a few exceptions like a member not posting because of being in the hospital or something like that. If they just don't show up for a couple of months place them on an inactive list and leave them out of the drawing until, if and when they return. In just my 2 short years as a member and not counting the years I was an anonymous lurker it's amazing how many folks have come and gone either on their on or banned.

yes perhaps the receiver can clear up the list a bit, or ask for new entrants. id hate for folks who only come here for freebies to take away something nice from regulars of the porch

I plan to go through the list of current entrants to see what their involvement is/has been with BF and specifically The Porch. I will also open it to new entrants, whose involvement I will also check. I won't remove anyone from the list per se, but their place will not be reclaimed until said person returns to The Porch regularly. Does that sound fair to y'all?
In regards to the box(!!!!): I stopped by one place I needed to yesterday to pick up a couple goodies, and I'm hoping to make the last stop tomorrow evening after work. I've got my additions to the box already picked out; so I'll be able to focus all of my excitement on what the incoming box holds! Stay tuned for a new thread to pop up, hopefully by this weekend! In the meantime, let's chew some more fat about the best way to proceed with this magnificent Rolling Road Show.

I did a search and found the thread I started after I won:

Some excerpts are shown below, but the bottom line is that kysteve won Round 3, and he ran Round 4 from the same thread and Neko2 won Round 4.
I think I saw something indicating that T.L.E. won Round 5, but there are a couple of other relevant threads that came up in my search that I should examine to confirm that and see if I can find the Round 6 winner.
Looks like we have a winner!

So I think rye_a's great idea of keeping a list of the winners is all set now. (Many of the threads announcing earlier rounds do, in fact, include lists of winners to date, but I'm not sure that all do.)
If anyone is interested in seeing some of the threads related to this "tradition", you can just enter "Round" in the Search box, click on "Search titles only" and "Search this forum only" and several of the first hits will bring back the memories!
