The M-43...

Killa you sharpen yours the same way I do mine. Seen some folks cringe when they see me shave with it. Happy choppin.

Congrat's to Killa and John on their M-43's. It looks like they are in for a lot of use whereas mine will be solely a collectors display piece. :o

Who will be next after C.S.? Should wildmike change his user name to wildmikeM-43? :p :D

Vinny, keep the faith, things will pick up, and with all the experience you have from the many blade styles you have had, there will be many well thought out purchases ahead.

Heck B.C. I may even pick me up another one by Bura one of these days. I wouldn't endorse them so strongly if my personal experience hadn't proven their capabilities in such a stellar fashion. Once you have one in hand you realize this is it.

So impressed am I, that I was going to buy Vinny's (kukulza28) M-43 as a user but it was sold by the time I got to it.:(

Snooze ya loose round here buddy. There be sharks in these here waters.

I'm gonnas contact Yangdu and see if I can get another really nice one made by Nura or maybe see if it would be possible to have Sgt Khadka make me one.

You really ought to pick one up B.C. You have to handle one to feel what they are actualy like in the hand. I have extensive experience with blades of many types, and I have never found anything else that moves and cuts like the M-43. I can't say enough good about the knife.

And quite honestly I'm not that easy to impress.

Wildmike, I have this one thanks to BF member sweet :

but was going to buy Vinny's as a user for I doubt I will put a mark on this fine example of Sher Kami's workmanship. But I sure will cut a lot of air with it!;)

B.C. That is one lovely piece I can see why you are loathe to put a scratch on it.

See if Yangdu has a Bura made one with either handle.

Agreed - that is one sweet M43, B.C.!
The karda and chakmak look wonderful as well - the ones that came with mine are of worse quality than the sets that came with my AK and Bhojpure - The handle on the chakmak is so thin, I'm afraid I'll break it if I use it.. I guess someone has to get the rotten eggs :(

Sadly I cannot currently view photobucket pics, but I imagine it must be a real looker if you'd have opted to use Kukulza's M43 before this one! Kuk's has lovely wood slabs and handles for the chakma/karda.

I added the weight (picked up a kitchen scale that does ounces). I'm betting with the M-43 it varies a lot in weight. Odd that it's only 8 ounces lighter than my Ultimate Fighter but feels easily like 15-20 ounces lighter. I was surprised by the number when it popped up on the scale.

It's snowing like crazy over here otherwise I'd have some photos. Still hoping to get them up soon.

Yeah me too. I've shaved with a few of mine too, just to do it.

But my best isn't a khukuri. I have a Becker Knife & Tool #7 that's so sharp it is on par with my 1890s Sheffield straight razor. Scary stuff. I keep a few of my khukuris 'almost' that sharp but didn't see a need to go quite that far, although once I did push one of my Chitlangis to that point to see if it was possible. And it was.

Wolf my knives are all so sharp that people who know me warn others that my dullest knife is sharper than the sharpest knife they've ever seen. An individual who I was roommating with many years ago was stealing some things from my closet, a knife which was up on the shelf fell out of the sheath and in falling cut the individuals finger to the bone. The doctor who stiched the finger commented that the knife which had made the cut was several times sharper than the scalpels he used for surgery. I likem sharp.

Crazy how those knives just fall out of the sky and hit thieves. :p
