The magnolia tree and deja vu.

Who would have thought that I'd encounter a kid that I had a very brief interaction with a half a dozen years or more ago, on the very same spot again? I was near to falling off the tree limb. The little kid is now a teenager, and still remembers the encounter, and bought a pocket knife because of it. It really makes me wonder if we're all just pawns on a big chess board that the guy upstairs moves around to suit his own purpose?

That old classic movie "It's a Wonderful Life" is far more true than many realize. It explains what I tried to say alot better than I can put into words... :)

“Every time you do a good deed you shine the light a little farther into the dark. And the thing is, when you're gone that light is going to keep shining on, pushing the shadows back.” ― Charles de Lint

An excellent quote!! Thx for sharing that

Fantastic story Carl...dude! :D

Carl, you have been a great influence and friend to many, and I am glad to be counted among them. This young man was lucky enough to be put on the right path.

great story, how amazing it must have been for the boy to have the same vision of the man and his dog under the tree from an eternity ago (for an adult, 5 or 6 years ago is still the present more or less), it would be scarcely more strange if you and the wonder corgi hat beamed up star trek style directly after speaking your last words to him. Our corgi also takes an active interest in geese.

Way cool, man.
Reminds me of something some old guy wrote>

To succeed is to win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children, to appreciate beauty and find the best in others. To leave the world a bit better, whether by a redeemed social condition, whether by a healthy child, or a garden patch.

I say you have succeeded, Carl

Great story, Carl. I always enjoy your posts but this struck a cord. Life offers many encounters and your never know what will become of them. For you to see that you made a positive impact by a chance meeting is a reward in my book. It goes as proof of character. Knowing a chance encounter can share in shaping another's outlook on things is motivation to take time and be a better person for me. Thanks for the reminder.

Chris
