The BK&T MAGNUM CAMP KNIFE, designed by ABS Master Smith and NATIONAL LIVING TREASURE Jerry Fisk, has started shipping. The spec's are on our web page at www.camillusknives.com/bkt.htm

This knife has been described during testing as a " Turbo Charged Tactical Kitchen knife...with ATTITUDE "

Its big...

Its bad...

It slices...

It dices...

It chops...

It is VERY quick in the hand...

All becuase it was designed by a man who KNOWS what a large 'camp knife' is supposed to do....CUT STUFF.

In addition, the guys @ EDGEWORKS, have worked their Kydex magic and come up with a fantastic ambi-sheath system for it, living up to the standard they have set with the CAMPANION, BRUTE and TACTOOL. Way to go EDGEWORKS!

The Dealers on our links page will be some of the first to recieve the MAGNUM CAMP,...so if you are looking for one, they should have them by the time you read this. If not, they are on the way.

I have one of the old Blackjack ones, and I agree one hundred percent with your assessment Will. Is there any chance the new sheath will fit my old knife?

Burke,
We 'slightly' changed the contours of the handle when we standardized the BK&T handle. I'll be able to get my hands on one of the early one's next week see. The new sheath is VERY dependent on the handle for fit, so it may or may not....we will see and I'll post a reply here for you.

My gut feeling is that it might, but it wouldn't be as positive a fit as the new model.

Mr. Burke
Glad you liked the old Blackjack camp knife. If you get a chance you ought to try the new one. To be honest Camillus did a better job and improved the knife. The steel is a better quality, the handle materials and finish of it is better. They just tweaked it up a bit.
They have also been outstanding to work with along with Mr. Ethan. I was honestly surprised that they are both just as committed as any custom maker I have ever worked with. But as my old granddad said, from good people you get good knives.

And Will is right about the sheath. It is impressive cause the Edgework people are just as committed to quality. I'm going strap one of the camp knives on my 4 wheeler.

FINALLY!!
I came to this Forum for the specific purpose of asking Where's the Fisk Knife?!
Can't wait to get me mitts on one of these rascals! If it's as good as the Brute is in quality, it will have been worth the wait!

Does anyone know the steel used in the older Blackjack manufactured knives? Does anyone have the specs on the 0170-6C steel used now? I have a new kydex sheath Campanion, and an older leather sheath Campanion, and the older model will not fit the kydex sheath. The blade is wider, and can't be inserted in the kydex.

I've been away for a few days, and came home late last night to find the box with my new Magnum Camp Knife. Man, this thing is SWEET! I haven't used it yet, but in handling it, seems very light and quick. I think JOCKO may be right, and we should start a CCCC. Is the steel used in the BK&T products at all simular to the CS carbon V? What is the finish on these knives? Any ideas?

Cerilla, I've heard Blackjack used whatever was on hand, including 440A, 1095, and A2. The 0170-6C steel has been discussed before on this forum; do a search. IIRC, it's 0170-6, made specifically for Camillus, hence the C at the end. It might be tweaked a little, I don't know. Camillus is making the new Campanions with a slightly narrower blade -- .23 instead of .25 -- so that is probably why your old one won't fit in the sheath. I'm surprised such a small difference in dimensions makes a noticeable difference in fit. Guess that's a sign of some pretty tight tolerances.
