The making of a custom fighting knife

Try calling via telephone. Email communication in the knife world seems to be pretty slow.

And I've already had the discussion about filling the hole. I was going to put mosaic pins in, but evidently the lawyers consider any modifications to be "calling attention" to the feature in question. Kinda like filling a hole with water would "accentuate the hole" rather than turning it into a pool, or putting a stained glass window in a hole in the wall accentuates the hole in the wall. Or something. I didn't care enough to turn it into a thing.

Busse doesn't have the hole copyrighted, just the location of a round hole. Anyhow unless your planning on making a bunch for sale it's not an issue. As for hardware chain bolts work great. I've used them on several knives with removable scales.

Still waiting on my stuff from usaknifemaker.com. Ordered 2 sets of chain ring bolts and a stainless tube for handle hardware. Hard to wait to finish this being as impatient as me. I love having all materials on hand so I don't have to halt production for a few parts

Nah this is pretty much a one off design that infirst drew on paper then cut onto plexiglass. I liked the design so i said why not make it my first (well not first) actual finished knife? Still waiting on hardware. Wish i had another project to chew up time but im dead in the water. Anyhow how would I go about acid stonewashing a big blade? Shes almost 12" overall and too big for a tumbler. Maybe manual rock tumbling? Bought ferric chloride a week ago and i dont really have anythingni could test it on.
