I sent Ray a sketch of a new field knife, and he worked his magic on it and sent some progress pics. I love the way it turned out  Here it is in various stages:

And here it is just about complete

I asked for a special sheath that he's working on, can't wait to get the whole package. You rocked this one Ray

Great step by step there, I always love to see how a knife comes together. Looks like you got a keeper there mate.

Thanks for the pics, I am waiting on my own custom creation from Ray to arrive :)

Thanks guys. Steel is 3/16" O1, blade is 4 1/2", handle is 4 3/8" O1 and natural Micarta are my favorite materials :D

That's fantastic!

I'm glad to see this thread because I just ordered myself one of Ray's beauties just the other day. I'm sending him some wood scales to use but I have to decide what kind of wood. Decisions, decisions...

Anyway I choose it's going to look stellar so I'm not worried.

This was a really nice design by tknife. I don't normally take progress pics because I always forget to stop and take pictures while I'm working. These are just a few steps and not very detailed like some others I've seen.
1st pic: the blade is cut and profiled from 3/16" O1 stock
2nd pic: the bevel is grinded and holes are drilled
3rd pic: after heat treating and the cleaned up, ready for hand sanding
4th pic: hand sanded the blade and grinded the edge, scales glued on
5th pic: finished knife

Thanks for doing that Ray, gives me something to look at while I wait for it :)

Ray does it again. I cant tell u how happy I am with my expedition. Enjoy Enjoy
Post some pics of it in use!!!!!!!!!

Here is the sheath I asked Ray to do. I find I use the mag block firestarters the most, so I wanted a pocket for that and a nice leather sheath. Turned out excellent.
