The Making Of.....

It would be cool but I think it would kill me to watch the process of someone making my knife. I want it now!:D
It does but I order regularly from John and I can wait for the excellent product I KNOW is coming. ;)

OH YES! Excellent as usual John!
Love it.
Now I have to wait for Noah and then she's mine!
WOW!
:D

This thread was awesome!
I got to see my knife develop from a piece of steel and a hunk of wood into this beautiful work of art.
Awesome work John! :) Can't wait to get her.

And now for the WIP of mrbear's JK Kephart sheath!

Belt loop and welt cemented in place with Barge Cement, inside welt edge hardened with CA super glue:

That isn't the final coloration of the sheath, as I have some more steps to go through before I get that. Once the cement sets I will be riveting the belt loop in place, waterproofing the interior and closing up the sheath for stitching. For now, though, it's off to Petco to do some volunteering

OH THAT IS SWEET!
Nice Noah. I couldn't see the pics at work as photobucket is blocked but WOW!
This is going to be a special setup.
John & Noah are DEFINITELY an awesome combination.

Glad you're liking it so far, mrbear! I know what you mean about Photobucket--my work has it blocked as well! I used to use TinyPic but they have decided to make you answer one of those cryptic word images every time you want to upload a picture unless you have an account and they won't let anyone new make accounts. Anyway, a little more progress has been made! I'm going to spam your thread :P

Belt loop riveted in place and interior waterproofed (I smear water on it to make sure it's repelled like it should be, and I left the droplets on to make the photo prettier :P):

Cemented together:

Once the cement sets for a few hours I will trim the edges flush, then sand and bevel them, then I'll cut a stitching groove and mark where my holes will go. After that it's stitching time, which I will probably be doing at work :P

And you do this as a side/extra job? WOW.....You need to stick with this. You have an eye for this.

Thanks! I work on an IT Help Desk during the day, which really cuts into my leatherworking time. Unfortunately, though, I am too slow at my leatherworking to finish enough work quickly enough to do it full time (the people who do that can start and finish a holster in 4 hours). Still, I will keep doing this as long as I enjoy it :)

All done! Sorry for the missing steps--I forgot to take photos of them and then my fiancee stole the camera (although since it's hers I guess I was the one stealing it)

Yeah I'm peeking........I couldn't resist Noah. :)

That came out sweet! Thank you.

This knife and sheath combo is excellent and really shows off the craftsmanship you both have.
Good combination you two.

A big round of applause goes out to both John and Noah! A fine job well done on both the knife and the sheath. A really good job on taking us digitally through the steps of both jobs too! Real fine camera work.

Thanks guys, you both really do fine work!
