The purpose of this thread is for people to list as many uses for a knife as they can think of. All you have to do is post a reply to my post stating your use for a knife. We all know knives are meant to cut things so that doesn't count. Do not post a reply unless you know that what you post will work if it has to be done. IT HAS TO BE PRACTICAL AND POSSIBLE! You can also post pictures or stories if you'd like!

bottle opener, pry tool, screwdriver, hammer, money clip, paperweight, bookmark, drill...i'm sure i could think of more.

I needed a little extra reach in a hurry at the mine one night so I hammered my CRKT M16-14 up to the hilt into some compacted clay stood on it to place a patch. Not the safest use of a folder but it had to be done and it didn't hurt the knife any.

If it's a satin finished or polished blade you could use it to reflect light at planes or helicopters like an emergency mirror if you were stranded somewhere.

1. Fine tips for cleaning fingernails and toenails.

2. Scraping off dead skin on legs and back.

3. Pierce blisters on toes.

4. Hacking cockroaches when you can't find a can of insecticide fast enough, (this is NOT a job for my folders though).

I found this years back in an online publication called "Preparedness Moment." I was not written by a knife nut, just a guy who saw his pocketknife as an indispensable tool. I think the author was a physician.

Sometimes I like to use mine as a Go-Go-Gadget extending finger.

If I drop something I'll open my Stretch and poke it with the tip and then kind of flip it up so I can grab it easier. Can't quite reach something on a shelf? Use my knife to inch in closer so I can grab it.
