Upon Ralphs suggestion I also submitted a request for a Shinto Katana through Martial Way and it arrived today, delivery was fast and he keep me aprised of the situation the whole time.

Hmmm the sword, a Paul Chen Shinto Katana, well my wife when the postman dropped it off said, Oh my word! is this yours?....How much?......

you know the drill guys!

But the Hamon on mine is very nice and the blade is fairly sharp, I'd like it a tad bit sharper but will have to figure that one out later. I emailed Louis that it arrived safely but was worried about really chopping or cutting with this sword, but I just walked into the nearby woods anyway. Had to try!
Found a branch that seem like it was hanging down just a bit too much for me and so drew the sword and took a swing........Tinggg went the sound of sword hitting about a 1/2" branch. At first I thought I missed, as the remaining branch didn't really move at all....but I looked and the other part fell to the ground cleanly cut, amazing stuff!

I sent the above message to Louis and he replied that he read it sitting on the edge of his seat, waiting to hear I did damage or some such nonsense, he was relieved to hear the opposite!

Thanks Ralph and especially to Louis, recommend him for any knife/sword needs guys.

Quick update, my daughters got home from school and said `show us how it cuts!' well, what was I to do? so out we go and this time a little braver, a branch about 1 1/2" thick was no problem for the sword, they were impressed as was I....
