I'm a pretty big fan of the Jumbo Versipack. I bought mine at Blade in 2011 and I've carried it for a year. I waited to review it until I saw how well it held up to abuse. In the video I show just how much junk you can cram into one of these bags. The most amazing thing is that not a single stitch has come undone. It is just as nice as the day I bought it.

I can't tell if that was you, or a parody of you (trach kit? hooptie?), but either way I liked it.

I too have found the stitching to be very durable. My sons, now 11 and 14, have used their Condor II's as school backpacks for 3 years, and the Condor II's have survived well with no damage other than several lost paracord zipper pulls.

Thanks for watching. The trach kit I carry for a very good reason, explained in the video. I have the training and more importantly the real world experience to use it as a last ditch effort to save a life. The word 'hooptie' was an inside joke I have running with my family about my piece of crap car. I think one of my nephews calls it a hooptie.

I have three Maxpedition bags, that have all held up extremely well!

I love the concept of the Fatboy and Jumbo. You can cram ton of gear into one. For EDC from house to car to job/school etc., it does the job. The problem I've run into and the reason i stopped carrying one is that during any type of hiking more than a stroll, the bag tends to swing around too much. I know that loop in the back is for that very purpose but i"m not comfortable with it. Ironically I carry my 10 x 4 all the time and don't have this issue. I think it has to to with the way weight is distributed i.e. too much on tthe "Z" axis. Great review AIG!

ETA: Is that Ennio Morricone doing your music?

I don't own a maxped pack, but I enjoyed the vid! The epic trumpet in the background was awesome, and the potleaf was pretty funny too!

I CCW with mine when I have a lot of stuff I want to bring.

Mine has also held up beautifully. They are very tough bags, and fairly well though out.

The fabric does loosen up a bit over time so its not so stiff.

A jazz flutist from Australia did the first song. Second song is from Once Upon a Time in the West (Ennio Morricone), third song is from Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid (Burt Bacharach), final song is from The Good, The Bad and The Ugly (Ennio Morricone).

I've used a lot also. I chose blue for same reasons you mentioned. Thanks for sharing.

The Fatboy S has been my manpurse for a year now. It's got enough gear in it to let me survive on the South Pole, the North Pole and everywhere in between. It's also got the necessary day-to-day stuff in it. I leave it at home when I walk the dogs, the rest of the time I carry it. It's no longer very light but it's very comfortable, and it's good to be as prepared for the unexpected as I can be.
The quality of this Maxpedition products is insane.

After many years of poking fun at guys who carry around a bag, I broke down and tried a Maxpedition. Now I am a big fan, and carry my Jumbo Versipack every day. I have it packed with a small 'office', a CCW pistol, ammunition, knives, tools, snacks, water, flashlights, monocular, first aid, and a lot of other stuff.

Excellent video AIG.

I'm still struggling to find a suitable shoulder bag for both in and outta town duties. I'm still hopping between my old army surplus, leather lined satchel, which is a bit small and makes me look like an extra from 'Just William', or a small day pack, that, when not fully laden, seems to get a 'phantom' shoulder ache, whether worn on one or two shoulders

I've been a aware of these for a while but have baulked at buying something so spendy....however, your review has really impressed the quality and versatility of this of this product. I've now narrowed my choice down to this or the Savotta Trooper....I am hesitant about the quality of the latter though.....hmmm...decisions.

Thanks again. I really enjoy watching your videos.

Kind regards

I've had one for a few years, but rarely carry it now because I feel it's uncomfortable when heavily laden: I much prefer a backpack since the weight is balanced on both shoulders.

I like the bag. I carried a couple different camera bags for a few years. One was a LowePro bag and the other was from a company that builds high quality camera bags that don't look like camera bags. I forgot to mention in the video that I can fit my Canon 5D in the Maxpedition bag comfortably. The ergonomics on the Maxpedition are far superior to the camera bags I tried but as mentioned above, if you are looking to carry a heavy load, a backpack is a better option.

I'm not much of a bag guy, or a fan of Orange. However, I may just get some type of orange bag now. Be perfect for hunting season, and I can easily take it anywhere without getting a second look. Great vid

I've had my Versipack for 4 years now and it's held up great. The construction is top notch and virtually bombproof. Wouldn't hesitate to buy anything else from them based on this experience.

I have used a "man bag", "murse" or "purse" for several years now. All of them were leather with whimpy straps that didn't hold up very well. So I decided to go with the Versapak Jumbo, in Khaki. I believe that this will last me for a very long time also.
I enjoyed your vid/overview, got to hand it to a guy that carries his own hot sauce! But you didn't cover the low points or "cons" if you will of the bag, perhaps you didn't have any for your usage?
For me there are two places to improve, one is the little handle that they have sewn in-between the straps could be a bit larger in diameter or padded to be more comfortable when you grab it (I find that I use it all the time) and with the weight it is a bit uncomfortable. I handed it to my GF and she couldn't believe how heavy it was (I didn't have the heart to tell her it had my Hi Power in the CCW pocket - LOL!
The second improvement for me would be to the small pouch pocket (exposed when the top flap is opened) could use to have some sort of closure (snap or velcro) on it so items don't fall out! I have had a couple things find their way out so I had to rearrange things that I would like to keep in that pouch.
Overall very happy with it and agree that it is a well made bag.
I just ordered the janus pouch that attaches to the shoulder strap, so I can further organize.
You brought up a couple good items to carry - paracord, got to get me some.
I carry a few small zip ties.
Thanks for taking the time to make the vid.
