The Maxpedition Jumbo Versipack

Good job on the video! I have the Jumbo Versipack in cammo that I use as a day pack for hunting (I don't want to be seen while hunting). I have the LH version because I am left-handed but I shoot right-handed, so the pack stays out of the way while carrying my rifle. I have also added a few small pouches, made by Maxpedition, to the outside of the bag to carry deer lure, compass, etc. I figure if the deer lure bottle leaks it will only stink up one small pouch and not the whole bag. Nice deer with a handgun picture, excellent shooting!
As others have said Maxpedition, makes great products, I have three other (black and OD green colors) bags that I use for traveling, skiing and sightseeing.
I relly enjoyed the background music of your video, thanks for listing the titles and composers.
I really enjoy this website because of the wealth of information received from folks like you. Keep up the great job, AIG.

Ive carried my Maxped Malaga every day for nearly 3 years and I dont know what I'd do without it.
I carry everything from several fixed blades and folders to cologne and bandaids. Every little pocket has its own specific use and nothing gets misplaced.
It has been all through the city and wilderness, and also in the washing machine and dryer,
Not one thread has worn out or broken, and no holes have worn through (unlike my $150 Oakley bag).
The only issue ive had is with the paracord pulls falling off, which is a very small problem, and has actually allowed me to swap out the original paracord with different colors at different lengths, thus helping me find specific zippers ASAP.
I praise Maxpedition packs every chance I get simply because the price/quality ratio is by far the best ive found.

Just purchased a Maxpedition Lunada Gearslinger. This is a nice compact bag in Foilage Green.

Good edc choice for me as well. As mentioned above, it gets heavy very fast.
I recently went for the stripped down k.i.s.s. version witch is lighter to begin with. It forced me to be more selective with what I carry and the load went down considerably.
For whoever is interested, makes a great diaper bag if you have a young one.

I tried one, just couldn't learn to like it.
1. The man-bag/satchel look wasn't me LOL
2. I didn't like how the top was just a flap and not a zipper or at least a drawstring
3. Wasn't very easy to pack without making it a bulgy round ball.

I do know tons of people love theirs...and it was a quality built item...just not for me.

I went to the SpecOps SOB pack, I like it.

I have the Lunada and I am not aware of any flap. Every pocket has a zipper except a top slip thru.

i like mine...it goes everywhere with me, but i gotta quit adding "junk". as others have already said, they do get heavy.

I have the Lunada and I am not aware of any flap. Every pocket has a zipper except a top slip thru.

On the KISS (and some other models) the main compartment is just sealed by a flap with buckle strap. the other small pockets have zippers. I believe other models have a zippered main compartment...I just didn't like the overall design enough to buy another one that was zippered.

I don't have a gripe against them, I would carry one if it was all I had...I just prefer other bags/styles. To be honest I like a small backpack over any one-strap bag...sling or satchel. I have a camelback MULE that is great for EDC, or dayhikes. I plan on using it as my hunting pack this Fall.

Excellent video AIG.

I'm still struggling to find a suitable shoulder bag for both in and outta town duties. I'm still hopping between my old army surplus, leather lined satchel, which is a bit small and makes me look like an extra from 'Just William', or a small day pack, that, when not fully laden, seems to get a 'phantom' shoulder ache, whether worn on one or two shoulders

I've been a aware of these for a while but have baulked at buying something so spendy....however, your review has really impressed the quality and versatility of this of this product. I've now narrowed my choice down to this or the Savotta Trooper....I am hesitant about the quality of the latter though.....hmmm...decisions.

Thanks again. I really enjoy watching your videos.

Kind regards

scruff

I looked at these styles when I was visiting the US

I ended up with a small Timbuk2 Messenger bag in black
It is a basic bomb proof sachel
Fits my corperate Hi-Tech walk into the office bag
Where nobody could guess the swag...

No pockets just a single open space
Some inside pockets for wallets and sunglasses, which work well
Store EDC gear in small ditty bags inside

A non-sponsor vendor clearanced some overstock a while back, and I picked up a couple of Fatboy G.T.G. ("Good to Go") Versipacks, an olive drab and a black.
For the black one, I also bought the velcro pistol loop for keeping my G19 upright and secure in the pistol pouch.

Here's an inventory on my green version, mostly used for short day hikes:

Open side pocket: Maxpedition water bottle
Zipped side pocket: Garmin 60CSx GPS unit
Zipped flap pocket: Fenix E11 and Coghlan's survival whistle
Open front pocket: survival blanket and signal mirror
Zipped front pocket: small sharpening stone, Fisher Space Pen, fire kit (LMF fire steel, mini Bic, K&M match case with REI storm proof matches, 3 WetFire tinder packs)
Main compartment: Rite in the Rain tablet, bandanna, first aid kit, paracord, Princeton Tec Scout head lamp, fixed blade knife
Pistol pocket: Kel-Tec P3AT in RJ Hedley holster, spare magazine in RJ Hedley slip

I prefer the standard Fatboy. I found that the Jumbo got too heavy fast when adding a full size nalgene and all the other gear. I tend to over pack that thing. The standard fatboy will hold a canteen in the main compartment and few extras in the pockets. Great bag.

Just received the Maxpedition 10 x 4 water bottle holder and integrated it with my Lunada Gearslinger pack using Blackhawk speed clips. Overall this make for a good sold pack.
