The most under rated part of the custom knife equation. The sheath ?

There's some amazing work on here, thanks for sharing it.

I'd imagine the overall standard of sheathmaking has gone up ever since that DVD by a certain Mr Long came out:thumbup:...I know mine has...although not enough to post any on here!:D

Paul has definitely elevated the art

So much fantastic work on here

I love to see the different carry styles and different materials used

Thanks for starting this thread, and for every one who posted pics.

I have started making my own leather for my own use, and have received a lot of tips, and learning from others on this site.

Great thread, and great sheaths posted so far.

This sheath is a good example why I consider Larry Fuegen to be one of best sheathmakers in the world (all hand tooled & hand stitched):

Here's one of my favorites. Surprised more buyers don't order sheaths from Kyle to go along with their Royer knives:

A few beauties from Paul Long:

Those are absolutely beautiful, Bigblue17. Incredible workmanship. Do you just do this for your personal knives?

Meteu - Thank you!! I'm not exactly sure what you are referring to by "this". But, if you mean the wooden sheaths.... I do them occasionally when I think it fits the knife style, and I've sold or given as presents several pieces with wooden sheaths.

After dubbing Adam DesRosiers' JS ivory test knife the 'Chilikadrotna Fighter' commemorating a wilderness float trip, I turned Justin Reichert loose with the theme and a walrus ivory net weight. This was his result.

This one is leather lined fiberglass with pig skin leather stretched over it. You ever try to stretch pig skin? Not an easy task. Anyway I'm proud of it.

That's a nice one Bruce, I love how the guard blends with the collar.

My friend and the owner of this combination sent me a photo of this display. (Shadow-box Wall Hanging- Rare Earth Magnet Holders)

The wooden frame is made from an Italian picture frame- the glass top is " museum glass', the interior is ph neutral and has a "sueded" finish.
