Thanks Fferrell. I don't know if he does this kind of custom work any more. In fact I mentioned it to him at the knife show last year and he didn't even remember making it. I had to send him a photo to remind him! I also have a sword cane that has a three sided blade from that same time frame but the photo I have of it (another insurance job) really doesn't show any details. It took me ten years of nagging to get him to make a ambidextrous thumb stud for my left handed Sebenza but I doubt that's very valuable.
This might be a contender. I got it from Chris 15-25 years ago. It's one piece of Damascus and the insets that form the grip and the pommel end are ivory.
Sorry for the crummy quality of the photos, they're just for insurance purposes.
Thanks for sharing these pictures. I've never seen this one before. Just stunning. Chris has produced some very nice, one-off customs in the past and the value on these are basically whatever a collector will pay. Pic any one and call it the most valuable CR knife around on a given day.
He can be very persuasive, can't he? I applaud your choice in priorities, brother James. Had to pass on #14's of this series for similar considerations. Would do it again any day, but I know how you feel..
