Thanks for the info, Guy...I wasn't aware that the kris was a standard fixture on Scagel-style knives (shows you how much I know
). You may be right about my knife being a stock-removal piece; the source I purchased it from advertised it as "hand-forged 52100 steel", but I've always been curious about the deviation from the standard Tomes maker's mark. I'm not sure that I would know how to distinguish a forged knife from a stock-removal blade, so I'll just continue to enjoy the knife as is...sometimes ignorance is bliss
