So I was just messing around, opening and closing a few of my knives, and all of a sudden I noticed some skin hanging off my index finger tip. I didn't' feel it when it happened so I was wondering how the hell that could of happened. That finger is never in front of the blade while opening or closing. So I picked up the few knives that I was just playing with and kept opening and closing, basically trying to replicate how I could of gotten that little nick on my finger. I finally came to the conclusion that it was the back G10 portion of the Kershaw Skyline. Right after you use the flipper, the area that your finger would glide against. It lined up perfectly and to my surprise it actually had a sharp edge to it.

Has this happened to anyone else?

Skyline is so far my favorite knife, I have flicked mine open several hundred times at least and this has never happened to me. I don't so much slide or glide my finger as just give the nub a little inward push together with a very light wrist flick.

If yours is actually sharp as in a factory defect, you could sand it down or send it back.

I just checked several of my Skylines and the inside edge of the G10 scale does have a bit of an edge to it.

But then, the skin of my hands is a bit rough, and so resists being cut.

I assume that soft lotioned skin might be susceptible to injury. ;)

Just take a bit of sandpaper or an emery board and knock off the sharp edge.

I have about 8 Skylines, which almost never get any love, but yeah, that G10 edge you refer to is pretty sharp. I could see how it would slice you. But a 20-second, careful application of sandpaper on that edge would cure it pronto. Just chamfer or round it over ever so slightly.
