Out weedeating the monkeygrass in the side yard when something shiny peeks through the dirt. It was the pocket clip on this Spyderco GIN-1 Native. I've got 5 or 6 different Natives so I had never missed this one. I don't know how long it's been out there. It was closed when I found it and I had to whack it a few times on a tree to get enough blade out to pull it open this far.

Well, a few minutes in the sink with a scrub brush then several rounds of Lubrilon (the lubricant in original 'Slick 50') and some painters steel wool got it looking like this. Still need to get those pockets of corrosion off the blade.

You can see how badly it destroyed the edge. I gave it a couple passes on a 250 then a 400 grit stone to try to get some edge back but I haven't fully restored the edge yet and I won't succeed until I have some more time to spend. Look for it on e-bay as 'Used but Like New'!!
