I was looking at the Blade-Tech site today and saw a couple of interesting new models. I will admit that of late Blade-Techs are the only folders I make a habit of carrying. I saw several interesting looking knives but this one really caught my eye. http://www.blade-tech.com/ULU-Black-pr-1098.html . This thing is really a folding ULU, there is no specs on the site as far as steel or size and I am guessing at the MSRP price that there is not going to be S30V. I have used several Blade-Techs extensively and I have nothing but good things to say about them. I am anxious to try this knife out. What do you guys think of it?

well being I just purchase my 1st. Blade tech knife the Wegner Pro Hunters Knife OD Green PE S30V, it is a excellent knife, now the blade you refer to is neat..I may look into it

Well, Blade-Tech makes great knives and I like ulus, got a few of them, but I have to agree with THG, that is one ugly knife. :D

I question the "chopping" part. Not big on chopping with a folder to begin with, but chopping with a liner-lock knife seems precarious at best.

Well I agree thats not the prettiest knife I've ever seen I bet it would be handy in the kitchen. The kind you might just "happen" to have around when your wife needed a knife while camping or something. Always good to show the wife why it's a good idea to have dozens of knives.
I might have to pick up one of the mouse lites though. Thats a neat design and at 23 bucks I might even be able to afford it. I liked those when they were made by Spyderco.

I designed this knife for this exact reason, you have a folding chopper for camping/kitchen and a fleshing tool for hunting. Maybe ugly to some of you, but for $49.95 I think it will be worth every penny. I have tested these myself, and Tim just got back from testing them in Africa. Maybe I can let you guys pass one or two of them around to see if they grow on you...or, maybe this tool just isn't for everyone.:D

I personally love the looks of the knife! I think, as you suggested, a passaround would be very beneficial. It would allow people to see just how functional the knife is.

As far as people saying that it's ugly, it is, but so is every Spyderco I've ever purchased (all 50 of them). However, as you well know, having worked for Spyderco, they're functional as heck, and that is the real beauty of them!;)

Thank you Sir...I will supply the knives, But I need someone to facilitate the "pass-around". Any suggestions. I would like to know how many people are interested.

Interesting design...original if anything...wouldn't call it ugly though

BTW,I wouldn't chop with any folder

:DYou can chop with it in the "ULU" position and it's not like chopping with a folder. It also has a very strong, thick liner-lock, so you can beet them up pretty good. I still think I'll have to pass a few around to start changing the way people look at this knife. BTW, I appreciate all of the opinions and input you guys are feeding me on this new design.:)

I thought there was nothing truly new you could do with a knife and still ave it be functional but it looks like i was wrong. The series of photos is a big help. It took me quite a while after reading the description and seeing the one photo on the bladetech site to actually figure out the secondary Ulu position was different from regular closed.
