Just wondering what you guys think of this folder in case you have seen it, I'm not sure what to make of the design or the materials and the price.

I'm curious how it does, I think you are paying a premium for the breakdown feature because it uses pretty "bland" if you will materials. I would pick one up if it was selling for about $60.

I have had mine for a while, they are not bad in terms of construction the materials are not great for the price. The break down feature seems to work fine I think the value in it is not so much the ability to clean the knife as to change blades out so one handle various blade shapes. Overall it's just okay nothing really earth shattering. If you really like the design than not bad to pick up.

I like mine a lot. I have EDCd it for a few months and it has worked well and held up great. The take down is cool but mostly I bought it for the overall design and have no regrets. I think I paid somewhere around $90 when they first hit the market and it was worth it IMHO.

ive had mine for a few days now and i really like it. its well made and flips open smoothly. i think it also looks great, i love the color of the handles and the finish on the blade is very nice. one of crkt's best offerings at the moment.

Too much $$ for the materials and a feature that falls into the "what's the point?" category...They made a knife with a feature that isn't offered on the market by anyone else...and there's a reason for that!

i agree i really have no use for taking it apart, but i really like the way the knife looks and feels, it definitely doesnt feel like one of the lower end crkts.

If I had a direct need for the breakdown feature I would probably have bought the knife by now... I probably will in the future when I have some more disposable income, but for now it's just not going to happen. Cool overall design though, looks like a good user.

I would probably buy it if it had a better blade steel for that price

I fully agree with this. The design is interesting enough that I want to pick it up, but I can't justify it just yet because of the price.

I think for a tinkerer the take apart function is great. I get that some people don't dig it though. I think the fact that you don't have to adjust a pivot screw EVER after you take your knife apart, that could be pretty sweet. There better be good quality control to make sure the pivots are built right (which is not something CRKT is known for).

I like the design very much, especially the fullers on the blade. The takedown feature doesn't interest me too much though.

i have no need to take a knife apart. been cleaning them for decades when they were pinned and couldnt be taken apart without major effort and repinning. that said i still think its a neat concept and if it had better steel with a better heat treatment id be more interested in the price its at now. otherwise ill wait for the close out sale....

It's a solution to a question not many were asking. A few bucks in Torx bits/drivers and you are set to take apart nearly every non-proprietary knife that compete against the Homefront size/performance wise. It feels to me like a $50 knife with a $50 takedown gimmick. If the takedown feature is important, then I get the desire. For me it's not really any more convenient than grabbing the drivers. If I'm taking a knife apart I've typically gone and grabbed cleaning and lubing stuff too so grabbing the drivers that are with that stuff isn't a chore.

All I know is the one I was looking at in the store literally fell apart in my hands. When it was put back together it rattled and shook bad. Tons of play.

It may have been the sample I was looking at, but I decided to stay away after that.

I handled one at a gun show yesterday, and fully expected a pretty crap folder with a cool gimmick. What I handled, however, was a shockingly good washer flipper that felt pretty awesome in my hand. I didn't find any sharp edges, it had the right contours, and the action was almost as smooth as bearings. I still think it's a bit overpriced, but damn it is nice for the price.

had to be a lemon, the one i have is solid. no play at all and flips out nicely. im still carrying mine around, i do like it quite a bit. both the crkt homefront and the crkt foresight are really nice knives.

Fiddled with it at Blade. Interesting feature but not sure how practical it is.

The promo video playing in the booth was a guy basically disassembling it out in the woods next to a river.

My feeling is, if you are that deep in the woods without a fixed blade then that's your own problem.
