The lock is .072 thick at the interface. I would guess it's at least as strong as any Reeve Intergral Lock (frame-lock)we've tested, and probably stronger. Why would you dislike a linerlock?

Did you guys notice that it uses M4 steel? I think that it is a 'must have' knife.

Sal don't worry not everyone dislikes liner locks...I for one like them and have become even more fond of them ever since getting my hands on the Sage.

I will agree that I wish it wasn't a liner lock. I haven't had the best of luck with them and not even a fan of frame locks. If it ever does wear to the point that there is play there is not a whole lot that can be done about it.

I'm a fan of lockbacks, compression, and ball bearing locks (and AXIS locks:foot:)

I might get one just because of the uncoated M4 blade. While I bought a frame lock not too long ago it has been a long time since I have spent my money on a liner lock.

There appears to be no cut out for accessing the liner lock. Is it difficult to disengage?

Hummm… I don’t know what to think about it. I like the CF and have been waiting for a M4 blade. But the blade has an odd looking shape, the lock and the spyderhole are covered by the scales, and the pocket clip seems to give a fairly high ride and it’s too big for clipless carry. I shall reserve judgment until I handle one.

I was really looking forward to this knife. Now it is kinda meh... I do like the CF and the steel. I do not mind the looks, clip, or country of origin, but I am not a fan of any of them either. It is often said that something's total is greater than the sum of it's parts. I hope that is the case here because the sum (from the pics) is short of my expectations. I will have to handle this one, before I buy it.

I'm not a huge fan of liner locks but Spyderco does them well.
Carbon fiber and M-4? Oh yeah!
