Hello Everybody;

This is my first post in this forum so I thought to say hello before I ask questions.

I have always loved knives but I just recently started EDC a small knives and I don´t know why but is just makes me feel good wearing a small blade.

I currently live in Europe so besides small SAK´s it is not that usual to wear EDC knives.

My lates purchases are a SOG Access Card 2.0 and a SOG Slim Jim which despite the bad reviews is performing very well.

My next knives could be a SOG Mini Trident of maybe a Spyderco. Any recommendation for the sub US$ 100 limit?

Anyways, this is me so see you around.

spyderco dragonfly or delica. cant go wrong with this my friend. by the way, welcome to the forum.

Yes, Spyderco Dragonfly with the ZDP-189 steel. I've been carrying this around for the past year and its small, but a really useful knife. It just hides so easily in my pocket I almost can't tell its there. I don't even use the clip and so I removed it.

Spyderco and the Byrd line have some great smaller knives. The Cold Steel Mini Tuff Lite is another real winner.

Thank you. I have noticed the the Spyderco have a lot of fans. I did not know the Mini Tuff. Very interesting knife for not much money.

Think you will like the Sog Trident. Take a look at the larger one. Blade close to 4 inches

The normal Trident looks a little too big for EDC otherwise I ll go for it. Beautiful blade. I also like the SOG Mini Vulcan even if big for EDC

Where I am (Barcelona, Spain) it is illegal to carry anything bigger than 4 inches and/or automatic, sharpened on both sides. Despite that the cops have the last word if they want to take your knife away even if it is legal including a SAK. Kind of a gray area.

SOG is a great knife at that price range and plenty to choose from. Try also Camilus and CRKT. They have cool designs and cheap prices as well

If you're at risk of confiscation maybe go for something not intimidating and not too expensive incase police decided they want your knife. Have you looked at the spydrrco delica or the benchmade griptillian series?

Icarusflies, welcome to the forums!
I happen to live in the same place country as you, and even more, the same city! I live in Barcelona, in Sarria-Sant Gervasi disctrict!

I also wanted to get a SOG SlimJim a while ago, but reviews and negative feedback about the lock made me chose other folders. How do you like yours? My favorite SOG folder is the Fielder (budget EDC, soft steel and solid linerlock).

And I own a few SOG Multitools, I have them on my EDC since years ago. I recommend them if you are also into multitools. But they're really expensive here!

I recommend you to try any Spyderco first of all, and specially the Pacific Salt (under $100) which is my favorite model of theirs, and the one that made me love Spyderco and appreciate the brand, products and customer service they have!

As far as SOG is concerned, I think they're a hit or miss more often than not. Old products are all great, but their modern offerings are quite expensive for what they offer. I think their best values are their Multitools (Powerlock, Pocket Powerplier, Blacktip) and fixexd blade knives, but I'd stay away from their machetes, gimmicky folders and expensive AUS8 offerings. I recommend reading reviews on them before buying!

With Spyderco you can't go wrong, period. Sure you recognise this place, don't you? :)

Chose the one you like the most, give them a try. Ontario also makes great folders in the low $ range (Utilitac, RAT...). I loev the Utilitac OO and recommend it to you, it's along the lines of most SOG offerings!

Some Spanish brands have interesting stuff, too. If you want to talk, or discuss, or meet or trade or whatever send me an e-mail! You seem like a nice guy to meet!

Hello Everybody;

Sorry for the late replay but I was unable to answer.

So I was about the get a SOG Mini Vulcan but the store did not have it anymore so I said lets get a Delica 4....same story no more available. Then I saw the Spyderco Tenacious and I loved it. Here in Europe it is not as cheap as in the states (I got mine for 70 Euros. Around 80 USD). I like the shape and the quality of it. I can really understand the addiction the Spyderco s arouse...I think I am infected also.

The Peacent. I am very happy with my SlimJim. It took me some thinking to get it mostly because of the bad reviews but it is really a nice looking knife and it opens flawlessly every time so I say go for it.

Thanks again for all the replays.

I know of a store in Barcelona that sell both the Delica and Endura (at overinflated European prices, though).
It is located in Carrer Torrent de l'Olla, number 53.

The name of the store, owned by a very nice marriage, is called Comercial Rodriguez.
Very nice people, and they have a lot of overseas and foreign stuff (FOX, CRKT, Spyderco, Leatherman, Extrema Ratio, etc.)

Hope you find it, and also that you enjoy your Tenacious! I bough my Resilience here as my first Spydie, and got hooked quite fast!

That´s funny, its where I am getting the sharpmaker.
