hey guys, just wanted to show the newest installation in the Fonly line of knives:D

its 1095, or w2 like the previous,4 1/4" blade, and 4 1/4" handle, it has a semi convexed grind, with a thickness of a strong 1/8".

for some reason why I was making it, I thought I would like a cord wrapped handle, but im too sure now. I think some lace wood and green lines would look nice. Once, Im %100 finished it will be totally satin finished, I might leave some rashings just for the look, but so far I like it!

Done the same as the others, demel, bench grinder and desk mounted belt sander. I did use a disc sander on some of it.

So what do you think, an improvement over the last?

Nice grind, lookin good now lets see it with some handles.

Looks good Fonly. The file marks would sure keep a cord in place. I wonder if there is a way to wrap alternating layers of black and blaze orange paracord onto the handle. I think that would look really cool!

oooo, bad ass.:D

Bring your bevels up higher. You'd be surprised how thin you can grind the steel and still have plenty of strength. Use a file guide to get your plunges to match up better. Use a small square to check and make sure the tang edges are square all the way around. If you're not going to put scales on it, chamfer the edges around the tang just a bit. If you decide to cord-wrap it, heat the tang up with a torch or you won't be able to drill it without carbide bits. Center-punch good and deep before drilling so the bit doesn't chatter around in those grooves. Don't let the blade turn blue, just the tang.

I know, I know... bitch bitch bitch! :D Despite everything I said, that looks perfectly serviceable. You're getting hooked on this, aren't you?

Yeah ! in your IROC-Z! :p

Fonly, I'd like to see a shot of the entire knife. Looks foo so far. Nice generous handle and plenty of straight edge before the upsweep. I was going to say the same thing as James Terrio except that I don't know a thing about knifemaking.

Don't say I didn't warn you :D Keep up the good work, with each one you'll notice things you overlooked before and there'll be a few "doh!" moments... at least that's how it goes for me.
