Cool, Alin_Maties! Welcome to BF and W&SS

What's the wooden thing attached to your firesteel?

Man this thread has some great experiences!

Here's some shots from this morning:

Last night was the annual yellow spotted salamander migration that occurs on my yard and driveway to the mating pond at my neighbor's house:

i made a handle for my firestarter, because when i used for the first time i hade some problems with that. i am a beginer in this tipe of things (using firesteel for making fire) but, practice is good.

Gotcha Alin  Practice is indeed good, have fun :)

Matthew, that is one anthropomorphic and photogenic salamander :D

I just browsed through this thread - you guys have some great photos from some amazing places. Here are a few from this past September in Huron National Forest in northern Michigan.

HOLY CRAP! I looked through your pictures and thought: "that looks a lot like the Manistee River Trail..." then I went back and read your intro only to find out it was the MRT! That is my favorite trail in the midwest, love that place.

Home in the islands for vacation. A honu came onshore at the beach yesterday to soak up some sun with my gf and me :D

It's actually the Huron National Forest over near Oscoda. That was my first time there and I loved it, very cool area. I plan on doing some fishing next time too.

I would like to take a trip to the Manistee are sometime though. I'll have to check out that trail.

Edit: Just looked back at those pictures - can't wait to see that much green again too!
